Grand Jury Subpoenas Obama Deep Stater John Brennan and Now He’s Shook Over Trump Civil Rights Case

John Brennan built his career accusing Donald Trump of being a Russian asset.

A federal grand jury in Florida just subpoenaed him over that very campaign.

Prosecutors now call Brennan a target, not just a witness, in a sweeping conspiracy investigation.

Same Prosecutor Who Signed Brennan's Subpoena Resigned Days Later

Joseph diGenova signed the subpoena on September 9, 2026.

It ordered John Brennan to appear before a federal grand jury in Fort Pierce, Florida.

The case sits in the Southern District of Florida, under U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon.

Brennan is due to testify on October 15, 2026.

His attorney, Ken Wainstein, disclosed the subpoena in a court filing rather than a press release.

Wainstein wrote that the investigation examines whether officials "conspired to deprive Trump of his civil rights."

DiGenova resigned from the investigative team within days of signing it.

Kurt Olsen remains on the investigative team, alongside U.S. Attorney Jason Reding Quiñones.

DiGenova was not shy about defending the substance of the probe on his way out the door.

He told the New York Post that pursuing indictments without evidence would be an ethical problem.

He told the Associated Press there is plenty of evidence to prove the theories of prosecution.

Brennan's filing accuses the Justice Department of chasing "phantom criminal conduct."

That is a strange complaint from the man who once ran the entire CIA and decided what counted as real intelligence.

Comey Strzok and Page Are Caught in the Same Net

Brennan is not the only Russiagate name getting a knock on the door.

James Comey has also been placed under subpoena in the broader investigation.

Peter Strzok and Lisa Page have been subpoenaed as part of the same federal Russiagate probe.

The FBI has opened separate criminal investigations into both Brennan and Comey.

Then-Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed in February 2026 that the Justice Department had received a criminal referral alleging Brennan lied under oath about the Steele dossier.

Congressman Jim Jordan pressed Bondi directly at the time on whether Brennan could face indictment over those statements.

Todd Blanche now runs the Justice Department after the Senate confirmed him as attorney general in August 2026, and the criminal investigation into Brennan has continued under his watch.

Brennan is already a target in a second, separate investigation out of Washington.

That probe centers on testimony he gave to Congress in 2023, which he denies was false.

Two federal investigations, two subpoenas, and one former CIA director now fighting on both fronts at once.

Obama's Fingerprints Are on the Document That Started It All

Every conspiracy needs an origin point, and this one keeps landing in the same place.

Investigators examining the 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment have zeroed in on changes made in December of that year, while Barack Obama was still in the Oval Office.

Back in 2022, Brennan told special counsel John Durham that Robert Mueller never interviewed him or assessed the ICA at all.

By 2025, a court filing from Brennan told a different story, describing a "very serious review" by Mueller that backed the assessment's conclusions.

Prosecutors now have that contradiction on paper, buried in a footnote his lawyers wrote.

This is not a new theory prosecutors invented last week.

It is the same theory Robert Mueller could never fully answer and the one the Durham investigation left dangling when it closed.

The difference now is a sitting federal judge, a live grand jury, and a testimony date on the calendar.

Conspiracy against rights is not a talking point invented for cable news.

It is a real federal statute, and prosecutors are building a paper trail toward using it.

October 15 is no longer just a date on Brennan's calendar.

It is the day America finds out whether the man who ran the CIA has to answer for what he built in 2016.
