The House Ethics Committee found Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez broke gift rules over her Tax the Rich Met Gala dress.
Now her Fighting Oligarchy rally pulled in a Hollywood millionaire for the encore.
Mike Myers showed up to that same rally wearing a message that completely missed the point.
AOC's Rich People Problem Started Long Before This Concert
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a well-documented problem with the optics of wealth.
The House Ethics Committee found she broke congressional gift rules by accepting a designer "Tax the Rich" dress and free admission for her fiancé at the 2021 Met Gala, an event bankrolled by the same donor class she built a career campaigning against.
Investigators ordered her to repay more than two thousand seven hundred dollars for the dress accessories, plus a separate payment to cover her fiancé's gala meal.
Four years later, Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders built their "Fighting Oligarchy" tour around warning crowds that the ultra-wealthy have rigged the system against ordinary Americans.
In April 2025, the pair chartered a private Bombardier jet running as much as fifteen thousand dollars an hour to hop between rally stops in Salt Lake City, Boise, Bakersfield, and Sacramento.
Sanders' campaign filings show more than two hundred thousand dollars went to private jets in a single quarter that spring, on top of nearly two million dollars his 2020 presidential run burned on chartered flights.
Sanders himself owns three properties, including a lakefront vacation home in North Hero, Vermont, while pulling in more than a million dollars a year from book royalties.
Rival Michael Bloomberg summed up the contradiction on a presidential debate stage years ago: "The best known socialist happens to be a millionaire with three houses."
Federal Election Commission filings reviewed by Fox News Digital show Ocasio-Cortez's campaign dropped more than three thousand dollars at the Vdara Hotel and Spa in Las Vegas alone during the same swing, with similar four-figure stays at boutique hotels in Tucson and Salt Lake City.
Even fellow Democrat Jasmine Crockett quietly distanced herself from the tour, telling colleagues it "kind of makes people be like, oh, it's about them, right?"
Private jets like the one Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez chartered produce emissions many times higher than a commercial flight, the same climate math both lawmakers invoke when lecturing ordinary Americans about gas prices and pickup trucks.
Ocasio-Cortez has herself demanded to know "how many private jets" corporate executives really need.
None of that stopped Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez from headlining a packed concert at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, introducing The Strokes to a crowd of thousands.
Mike Myers Picked AOC's Side and Wore the Proof on His Chest
Actor Mike Myers showed up to that same concert wearing a black shirt reading "FIGHT FASCISM" in bold white letters.
Myers posted photos to Instagram posing in the shirt alongside TV on the Radio frontman Tunde Adebimpe, then captioned the moment with the hashtags voteinnovember and fightfascism.
The Austin Powers star built a Hollywood fortune across three decades of box office comedies, sequels, and voice-over franchises.

He chose to wear his revolutionary slogan to a concert headlined by two politicians who just got caught billing donors for luxury hotel suites while warning everyone else about the dangers of unchecked wealth.
This was not Myers' first brush with performative political fashion.
He wore a "Canada Is Not for Sale" shirt on Saturday Night Live the previous year, responding to President Trump's comments about Canadian statehood.
The Queens concert itself was billed as a homecoming show for The Strokes, the kind of high-profile cultural moment that guarantees maximum cameras for whoever gets to stand closest to the stage.
Myers made sure he was one of those people, posting shoutouts to Beach House and The Strokes alongside his slogan shirt for his social media following to see.
That same TV on the Radio frontman posed for the photo, turning a free concert memory into a political endorsement nobody in the crowd actually signed up for.
The symbolism writes itself: a man best known for playing a cartoonishly wealthy fictional spy stood under a raised-fist slogan next to two of the loudest voices against wealth in American politics.
Why Millionaire Socialism Keeps Selling to a Crowd That Cannot Afford It
Millionaire actors wearing revolutionary slogans to political concerts is not a new act, but the timing here makes it land worse than usual.
Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez told crowds all spring that oligarchs are rigging America, while their travel bills read like the expense account of the oligarchs they warn about.
Mike Myers wearing a fist-and-slogan shirt to that same stage completes the picture the shirt itself was supposed to protest.
The fascism most working Americans actually worry about is not abstract – it is being priced out of their own neighborhoods by the same donor class these three keep flying around with.
Myers can afford to wear any shirt he wants.
What he cannot do is make that shirt mean anything standing next to two politicians whose financial disclosures do most of the arguing against them.
