Declassified FBI Documents Reveal What Agents Secretly Called Two Sitting Senators in 2020

Fifty one former intelligence officials publicly branded the Hunter Biden laptop a Russian disinformation operation days before Americans voted in 2020.

FBI Ran a Secret Operation Called Round River to Bury Biden Corruption Reporting

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan says he has the documents to prove it.

Jordan is now demanding FBI Director Kash Patel hand over every file connected to an operation the bureau code named Round River.

The White House Government Transparency Task Force declassified the first batch of Round River records last month, and what they show is not subtle.

Declassified files reviewed by Just the News and Breitbart show FBI agents inside the Foreign Influence Task Force Russia unit built a spreadsheet sorting more than six dozen prominent Americans, foreigners, and organizations into two columns.

Joe Biden and Hunter Biden landed in the column marked targets, meaning reporting about them got protected as victims of Russian disinformation.

Republicans and conservative outlets landed in the column marked conduits, meaning anything they said got treated as Russian disinformation before anyone checked the facts.

Grassley and Johnson Got Labeled Conduits While Real Evidence Sat in an FBI Drawer

Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson were investigating Hunter Biden's overseas business deals in 2020 when the FBI's spreadsheet put both men in the conduits column.

The bureau had already taken possession of Hunter Biden's laptop hard drives by December 2019, months before Grassley and Johnson opened their probe.

Fourteen separate confidential informants had been feeding the FBI derogatory information on Biden family corruption since 2015.

Jordan says the bureau's own task force never ran that informant reporting down – it slapped the Russian disinformation label on it and moved on.

Jordan says agents who pushed back internally got told, "No, no, no, no, we're going to push that to the side."

In August 2020, FBI officials gave Grassley and Johnson defensive briefings warning them their own investigation was compromised by Russian influence.

Two sitting United States senators got treated like foreign assets for doing basic oversight work.

The Playbook That Let the FBI Dodge Congress Without Shredding a Single Document

Congress's oversight power over the FBI isn't a courtesy the bureau gets to grant or withhold – it's built into Article I.

An agency doesn't need to destroy subpoenaed records to defeat oversight, it just needs to convince lawmakers the true information is foreign propaganda.

Round River did exactly that, turning two senators' legitimate investigation into a suspected Russian operation before a single document got produced.

This is not the bureau's first run through this playbook.
