Bernie Sanders admits there’s a border crisis
Democrats spent the first three years of Joe Biden’s Presidency denying that the border crisis existed.
When it became apparent that it was a political vulnerability for the party in the election this year, they began singing a different tune.
Vice President Kamala Harris has magically transformed herself into a tough border state prosecutor in her campaign ads.
U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) appeared on ABC’s This Week where host Jonathan Karl asked him about Kamala’s dramatic shift on the border.
“On immigration, when Harris ran for the Democratic nomination against you and others in 2020, she said she favored decriminalizing illegal border crossing,” Karl said. “She even suggested she would be in favor of abolishing ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement]. Now, of course, she’s taking, at least rhetorically, a much tougher line on border security.”
Karl noted that one of her first campaign ads claimed that she wanted to hire more Border Patrol agents.
“What do you make of her transformation on this issue?” Karl asked.
“Well, I don’t think it’s a question of transformation,” Sanders said. “We have a crisis at the border. We’ve got to make sure that fentanyl does not get into this country. We have to crack down on illegal immigration.”
Democrats know that the border is a serious problem for them when Sanders is on TV saying it’s a crisis and talking about cracking down on illegal immigration.
“So, keeping people from illegally entering the country, obviously, is the right thing to do,” Sanders added.
Four years ago, during the Democratic Presidential Primary, candidates tried to outdo each other on their commitment to open borders.
Now, they’re trying to say that cracking down on illegal immigration is a good thing in an election year.
Kamala Harris uses the border wall in a campaign ad
As part of Kamala’s rebrand as a candidate who wants to get tough on border security, her TV ad uses footage of the border wall in it.
Yikes. Even ABC is calling Kamala out for using images of President Trump’s border wall in her ads.

Karl pointed out to Sanders that she was using Trump’s border wall in the ad.
“But – but if you take a look at that ad, and one thing that I found striking is, if you look – and I think we have the – the images here, there are at least three points in that ad that show the border – the border wall. Donald Trump’s border wall. Is it now the position of the Democrats that they favor the border wall?” Karl asked.
Sanders was visibly nervous about being put on the spot so he dodged the question.
“Well, you – you can ask the Harris campaign about that ad,” Sanders said. “That’s the first that I’ve seen it.”
Democrats have no interest in securing the border, but they’re hoping they can fool enough voters until Election Day.
