President Trump campaigned on a promise to restore law and order to America.
Recently, the administration took the opportunity to put that pledge into action.
And Pam Bondi announced the death penalty in this major case.
Americans were stunned last December at the video of a shooter gunning down United HealthCare CEO Brian Thompson on the streets of New York City outside his hotel.
Police arrested 26-year-old Luigi Mangione for Thompson’s murder.
Mangione now faces state and federal murder charges.
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Trump administration would seek the death penalty in Mangione’s federal murder trial.
“Luigi Mangione’s murder of Brian Thompson — an innocent man and father of two young children — was a premeditated, cold-blooded assassination that shocked America,” a statement from Bondi read.
Bondi explained that seeking the death penalty for Mangione was part of President Trump’s agenda to Make America Safe Again.
“After careful consideration, I have directed federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty in this case as we carry out President Trump’s agenda to stop violent crime and Make America Safe Again,” Bondi added.
Mangione became a rallying symbol on the socialist Left.
The audiences in attendance for Saturday Night Live and the Daily Show applauded the mere mention of Mangione’s name, a reaction that disturbed the hosts who understood how immoral it was to cheer an alleged murderer.
Hatred of the American healthcare system is a core tenant of the Left’s belief system.
Leftists want to impose government run healthcare on America because that is the vehicle by which they can exercise control over every decision people make.
Once the government is 100 percent on the hook for medical care, there is a state interest in people using it as little as possible, which is how the Left can backdoor its way into mandating dietary and lifestyle choices under the guise these new restrictions on freedom are necessary to manage the costs of government run healthcare.
Elected Democrats played a dangerous game in trying to appeal to their base on this issue without looking like they were applauding vigilante murder.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) failed to thread that needle in her comments about Thompson’s killing where she argued that Americans needed to understand the rage on the Left that would drive someone to assassinate a health insurance company CEO.
“This is not to say that an act of violence is justified, but I think for anyone who is confused or shocked or appalled, they need to understand that people interpret and feel and experience denied claims as an act of violence against them,” Ocasio-Cortez began.
Even though the Untied States has the best healthcare system in the world, Ocasio-Cortez ran down the state of affairs as a dystopian hellscape where greedy executives leave Americans to die in the pursuit of ever increasing profits.
“Healthcare in this country has gotten to such a depraved state that people are living with things they should never have to live with. And this is not to say and this is not to participate in that glorification, but we need to understand that extreme levels of inequality in the United States yield high degrees of social instability,” Ocasio-Cortez added.
This is not a good look for Democrats.
Mangione is an alleged terrorist arrested on murder charges.
The tragedy in this case isn’t that Democrats are mad about not having government run healthcare in America.
