Donald Trump was jumping for joy after this major rival admitted a huge defeat

The vibe shift in America since President Trump’s election is very real.

Americans couldn’t miss the latest sign.

And Donald Trump was jumping for joy after this major rival admitted a huge defeat.

The White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) continues to struggle under the leadership of Kamala Harris superfan and MSNBC host Eugene Daniels.

Daniels latest misstep involved booking Trump-hating comedian Amber Ruffin to perform at the annual White House Correspondents Association Dinner.

Ruffin’s appearance became untenable after a podcast interview where she smeared Trump officials as murderers and objected to suggestions from the WHCA that she tell jokes about both Democrats and Republicans claiming hitting both sides would allow Trump officials to “feel like human beings, but they shouldn’t get to feel that way, because you’re not.”

Daniels issued a statement claiming that the move to drop Ruffin from the show was always planned.

“The WHCA board has unanimously decided we are no longer featuring a comedic performance this year. At this consequential moment for journalism, I want to ensure the focus is not on the politics of division but entirely on awarding our colleagues for their outstanding work and providing scholarship and mentorship to the next generation of journalists,” Daniels’ statement read.

That was hard to square with the fact that the dinner was just around the corner and the WHCA booked Ruffin to perform a set at the event.

“For the past couple of weeks, I have been planning a re-envisioning of our dinner tradition for this year,” Daniels added. “As the date nears, I will share more details of the plans in place to honor journalistic excellence and a robust, independent media covering the most powerful office in the world.”

Trump communications aide Taylor Budowich blasted Daniels for disassembling with his explanation for canceling Ruffin’s performance as well as for his failed leadership for the WHCA.

“No accountability at @WHCA, just a cop out statement—pathetic!” Budowich posted to social media.

Budowich wrote that the fact that WHCA members griped about Ruffin performing at the dinner but never went public showed how rotten the institution now is.

“Many WHCA members are privately pointing the finger at Eugene for making the unilateral decision to recruit and sign this garbage, hate-filled comedian. Yet, they are all turning a blind eye to it publicly. It’s an indictment on how broken and useless this organization has become… so sad that such a storied and consequential group has been so quickly driven into irrelevancy. Oh well. Good riddance!” Budowich concluded.

The event – known as “nerd prom” on social media – is one of the most obscene dates on the Washington calendar.

Journalists get all dressed up so they can drink and party with celebrities as well as the administration officials they purport to cover.

The dinner makes a mockery of the media’s supposedly adversarial relationship with the White House – especially when Democrats are in charge.

President Trump isn’t slated to attend the WHCA Dinner.

No one from his administration is expected to attend the dinner either.

That’s a trend that should continue.
