South Carolina Life Group’s Board Member Quit Over the Senate Endorsement He Called Inexcusable

Aug 23, 2026

Darline Graham inherited her brother's Senate seat and his name recognition overnight.

National Right to Life just handed her the ultimate pro life stamp of approval anyway.

One South Carolina pro life leader looked at her record and quit his board on the spot.

Randy Page Did Not Wait for an Explanation

Randy Page sits on the board of S.C. Citizens for Life, the group behind the LIFEforSC name.

On August 19, National Right to Life endorsed Darline Graham for the Senate seat her late brother Lindsey Graham once held.

Page resigned within hours.

He called the endorsement "ill advised and inexcusable."

He did not soften it and he did not wait to explain himself later.

Page did not need a committee meeting to know something was wrong.

National Right to Life Knew About the Donation First

Kristan Hawkins runs Students for Life Action, one of the most aggressive anti-abortion groups in the country.

Hawkins told National Right to Life staff about Darline Graham's donation to a senator who helped kill South Carolina's near total abortion ban, days before National Right to Life made its own endorsement.

National Right to Life endorsed Darline Graham anyway.

The Donation Everyone Is Still Arguing About

In 2020, Darline Graham gave $100 to then state Senator Katrina Shealy.

Two years later, Shealy became one of three Republicans South Carolinians nicknamed the "Sister Senators" after they filibustered a near total abortion ban and helped kill it.

Coverage in the New York Times treated the trio as folk heroes rather than the Republicans who killed a heartbeat bill.

Pro life volunteers went door to door across South Carolina for two years, and all three lost their seats in the 2024 primary.

Shealy told the New York Times that she and Darline Graham are close friends.

Darline Graham denies it, telling reporters this week that they were not friends and that she is "definitely pro-life."

According to a PBS report cited in a Students for Life Action letter, the two women are close enough that Darline Graham will "come over and drink wine with Shealy on her back porch."

Darline Graham also took a $10,000 donation from Denali Leadership PAC, tied to pro abortion Senator Lisa Murkowski.

After the Daily Beast reported the Shealy donation, Darline Graham's team posted that she backs seven anti-abortion bills in the Senate.

Those bills all stop short of protecting all unborn babies.

The Record National Right to Life Passed Over

Hawkins says Darline Graham "didn't support the Life at Conception Act," the bill that would ban abortion nationwide by granting personhood at conception.

Students for Life Action also asked Darline Graham to be the lead Senate sponsor of the Clean Water for All Life Act, a bill restricting abortion pill access.

Her team never responded to that request either.

Congressman Ralph Norman already cosponsors the Life at Conception Act and signed Students for Life Action's candidate pledge.

Students for Life Action endorsed Ralph Norman.

Supposed pro-life groups like Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America and National Right to Life both broke the other way.

Incredibly they did so despite Norman having a perfect pro-life voting record by their own scoring.

Apparently, SBA says they prefer an unproven senator who is unproven and who has supported some questionable characters when it comes to the core issue because Graham is a woman.

That’s right Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s president seems to think South Carolina voters should pick Darline Graham as a DEI hire.

That's the kind of nonsense Page could not stomach.

A Family Name Is Not a Voting Record

South Carolina's pro life movement runs on one simple rule.

Prove it with your votes, not your last name.

Norman built exactly that kind of record over years in the House.

Darline Graham has Trump's endorsement and a Senate seat she inherited when her brother died in office.

She does not have a single vote on abortion to show for any of it.

Page watched two national organizations reward the name and the endorsements instead of the record Norman actually built.

Voters in the August 25 runoff get the final say on which one actually matters.

Page already decided, and he decided by walking out the door.
