Senator Bernie Moreno Turned on Congressman Ex Son-in-law and His Own Secret Tapes Proved His Daughter Right

Max Miller swore his ex-wife invented every abuse allegation she made against him.

So he released his own secret recordings to prove she was lying to America.

The audio he chose to share revealed something he never wanted the country to hear.

Miller's Secret Recordings Corroborated the Very Claims He Denied

Rep. Max Miller went live on X Sunday morning to fight for his political life.

He told viewers "no court or agency has even substantiated any allegation" against him.

Then he did something no defense attorney would ever advise.

He released a Dropbox full of his own secretly recorded conversations with his ex wife, Emily Moreno, to back up his story.

Instead the recordings gave Moreno's side new ammunition, capturing her telling Miller she believed he had a drug problem and had found needles by his bed, on top of describing how scared of him she said she was.

One clip stood out above the rest.

"First it was weed, then I found needles next to your bed," Moreno told him on tape.

Miller did not deny it in the moment.

Back in June, Miller handed the New York Post a different secret recording meant to disprove Moreno's hot water claim.

On that tape, Miller can be heard giving her permission to go public with photos of the injury rather than denying he caused it.

Moreno's own attorney's firm summed up the June leak in a public case update with a phrase that stuck: "reputational self immolation."

Twice now Miller has reached for the same weapon and shot himself with it both times.

Bernie Moreno Broke With His Own Former Son In Law

Miller did not just lose the argument with his ex wife.

He lost his father in law too.

Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, is Emily Moreno's father and one of the most prominent Trump-aligned Republicans in the country.

Hours after Miller's livestream, Moreno wrote that Miller "is a danger to my daughter" and that he holds his breath every minute Miller has custody of his granddaughter.

Moreno said publicly that Miller should not serve in Congress.

That is a sitting Republican senator calling for a sitting Republican congressman to lose his seat, based on what his own daughter says happened inside their home.

Miller's response was to suggest her allegations trace back to undisclosed mental health struggles and to insist every claim leads back to one source.

He is not wrong that the source is his ex wife.

He is wrong that her word is the only evidence in this case.

Their two-year-old daughter ended up in a hospital with a broken collarbone in February, and police still have not settled on how it happened.

Caseworkers cleared Miller on some of the reports, but at least one review landed on an "indicated" finding, the term investigators use when the evidence points to abuse without pinning down who did it.

Miller has not been charged with a crime.

He has also not been cleared.

Ohio's Ballot Deadline Arrives With a Second Accuser Already in Court

Wednesday is Ohio's deadline for Republicans to replace Miller on the ballot through a special election process.

Miller announced he is staying in the race anyway, betting that a Trump plus 11 district will not abandon him over a divorce fight.

Democrats are watching a once-safe seat turn into a live target, with union ironworker Brian Poindexter running to flip it.

Miller is also fighting a second front no one is talking about as much.

His ex-girlfriend Stephanie Grisham, Trump's former White House press secretary, sued him in July claiming he violated their old settlement by publicly calling her a liar about abuse she says happened between 2019 and 2020.

Two women, two separate courts, one common thread running through both cases.

Miller wants his district to believe this is a coordinated smear timed to a custody fight.

Every time Miller reaches for his phone to clear his name, he hands his ex wife more material instead.

That is not a smear campaign against him.

That is a man narrating his own downfall in real time and hitting record while he does it.
