Former President Donald Trump had a series of political allies offer counter-programming to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois.

Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy called out Vice President Kamala Harris on the final day of the convention before she gave her acceptance speech. 

He demanded that she apologize to the many victims of crimes committed by illegal aliens during the Biden-Harris administration.

Ramaswamy told her to “have a spine and to apologize to the family members of Laken Riley” and to the other families who had their lives shattered by the murder of a loved one at the hands of an illegal alien.

“Even more importantly, tell the rest of us what policies you’re actually going to adopt to make sure something like that never happens again in this country,” Ramaswamy said.

His comments came the day as Trump held a campaign event in Cochise County, Arizona, at the Mexican border with families who were impacted by crimes committed by illegal aliens.

Ramaswamy highlighted that the Biden-Harris administration stopped all familial DNA testing at the southern border, which prevented cartels from using kids to create fake families to smuggle illegal aliens.

“If you actually cared about reuniting families you would at least genetically test, using the toolkit of modern science,” Ramaswamy said. “The truth of the matter though is that the cartels, many of whom are responsible for the human trafficking and child trafficking into the country, don’t want that reunification.”

DNA testing also helped get kids out of human trafficking situations. 

“Our own policy regime in this country, advanced by Democrats, favors exactly what the cartel business model calls for, which is allowing those children to be trafficked rather than reunited,” Ramaswamy explained.

In addition to abandoning familial DNA testing, the Biden-Harris administration has been sending unaccompanied minors at the border that they take into custody into dangerous situations.

The Department of Homeland Security Inspector General issued a report that found that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lost track of more than 300,000 illegal alien children they’ve taken into custody.

“That’s alarming that several hundreds of thousands of kids have gone completely unaccounted for and are now vulnerable to be sold into the equivalent of slavery in the United States of America,” Ramaswamy explained. 

“So I think this form of child slavery, when you use a word like child slavery, you think about something happening halfway around the world, in another hemisphere, another century,” Ramaswamy continued. “It’s actually alive and well right here in the United States of America, and yet, the very people who were responsible for it are the ones who preach compassion. That’s not compassion. That’s cruelty.”
