Sylvester Stallone is about to score one huge payday for this extremely rare collectible

May 17, 2024

Sylvester Stallone helped redefine the action movie genre.

In the 1980s Stallone was synonymous with big muscles, big guns, and big blockbusters.

And now Sylvester Stallone is about to score one huge payday for this extremely rare collectible.

Stallone to auction off his “Holy Grail” watch

Sylvester Stallone is set to turn over 11 of his watches to Sotheby’s for auction.

But one piece stands about above the rest.

YouTube personality – and watch expert – Nico Leonard van der Horst told TMZ that one of Stallone’s watches being turned over for auction is the “Holy Grail” of time pieces.

That would be the Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime.

The complexity and rarity of the watch make it the most expensive piece in the collection.

“The Grandmaster Chime is one of the most complicated and exclusive wristwatches made — with just a small handful in circulation — and that’s why Leonard says it’ll go for well over $5 million, which is what it’s pegged to fetch once it actually goes up for sale,” TMZ reported.

The initial asking price is $5,000,000.

But the last time one of the watches went up for auction the sale price reached $31,000,000.

“The last time a Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime was up for auction, it sold for a record $31 million. That was in 2019, and that one wasn’t owned by Rambo, which is why Leonard tells us this one from Sly will likely go for far more than the $5 mil estimate,” TMZ also reported.

Stallone’s latest project

Stallone is currently filming season 2 of Tulsa King, the Taylor Sheridan created show for Paramount+.

In Tulsa King, Stallone plays Dwight Manfredi, a New York mobster sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma by his crime family to build a new empire following his release from a lengthy prison sentence.

Season 1 ended with Manfredi’s love interest – ATF agent Stacy Beale – seting him up to get arrested by the feds.

In addition, Manfredi’s rivals in New York are preparing to make a move against him.

Stallone teased season 2 in a video posted to Instagram.

“You have no idea what’s coming. Trust me,” Stallone told fans.

Tulsa King will also follow the model of Sheridan’s other smash hit Yellowstone.

While Tulsa King will stream on Paramount+, the show will also air episodes on CBS.

CBS and Paramount+ need new hits with Yellowstone ending its run this November.

Getting an actor the caliber of Stallone to star in a series like Tulsa King is one of the new trends in streaming shows.

Since TV seasons no longer require 25-episode commitments, it’s easier to work around the schedules of major movie stars.

The decline in movie theater business also made streaming shows a more attractive option for stars that fans used to have to buy a ticket to see perform.

In this way, Tulsa King is also following the model of Yellowstone where the presence of Kevin Costner was the original hook that drew in fans.
