Seth Moulton Stared Into A Camera And Threw His Own Daughters Under The Bus

Seth Moulton once said he would not let his daughters play sports against male athletes.

On a Massachusetts debate stage, staring into that same camera, he took every word back.

What he traded his daughters for should make every parent in America furious.

The Comments That Made Moulton A Democrat Villain In 2024

Back in November 2024, Moulton told The New York Times that Democrats "spend way too much time trying not to offend anyone."

He said he had two young daughters, and he did not want either one shoved aside on a field by a male competitor.

For a party still reeling from Kamala Harris's loss, that was heresy.

What happened on that Massachusetts debate stage is a preview of how national Democrats plan to handle this issue everywhere else.

Progressive activists tried to have him replaced within weeks.

Fellow Massachusetts Democrat Tom Suozzi backed him up publicly, warning that punishing honesty on the issue would only cost the party more races.

Moulton held that line for nearly two years, through interviews, through backlash, through his own party's attempts to primary him out of Congress.

Then he actually needed votes from the far left – in his own primary against Ed Markey.

The Debate Where Two Years Of Honesty Vanished

Sharing a debate stage with Senator Ed Markey in Dedham, Moulton was asked directly about his own words.

"I deeply recognize your trauma, and I'm sorry if my comments hurt you," Moulton said.

He did not stop there.

He told the room those kids matter and pledged he would always have their back, no exceptions.

Markey, sensing blood, piled on immediately.

He accused Moulton of blaming transgender children for the entire party's 2024 wipeout, framing it as a betrayal of kids who never asked to be a campaign issue.

Twitchy summed up what every parent watching was thinking: "Sorry, girls. Daddy's got an election to win."

The two daughters Moulton invoked to defend two years ago are still just as real, but their father now says protecting them was the actual mistake.

Markey's Answer Was Even Worse

If Moulton's flip looked bad, Markey spent the same debate proving he never needed to flip at all.

He bragged that he was the first member of the Senate to publicly push for scrapping ICE altogether.

Then he pivoted straight to trans athletes in girls' sports, and told voters the whole country should follow Massachusetts and "embrace" them.

By his own count, there are only twelve transgender athletes in the entire NCAA.

Markey wants every girl in America to accept losing her spot, her scholarship, and her podium finish to one of them anyway, and he considers that compassion.

Moulton did not disagree with the goal – he only apologized for ever questioning it out loud.

John Deaton Didn't Have To Lift A Finger

This is what happens when Democrats let a Boston debate stage do the talking instead of the voters they lost in 2024.

Every swing voter who watched Moulton get bullied back into line now has it on video, not a script Democrats can quietly walk back.

Polling from Emerson College this year shows the primary itself is a dead heat, which means both men know exactly how thin their margin is – and Moulton still chose the mob over his own daughters.

Markey didn't need a poll to make his choice – he already has a long record of pushing to abolish ICE, and he doubled down on trans athletes in the same debate.

Massachusetts Republicans watching this primary don't need to invent a contrast with their fall opponent – Moulton and Markey are writing John Deaton's ad script for him, one apology and one "embrace" at a time.

Every parent in Massachusetts just watched a sitting congressman abandon his own daughters to save a primary campaign, and neither man running for that Senate seat so much as blinked.
