RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) isn’t going quietly into the night.
McConnell is out of leadership after this term, but McConnell is still determined to pick a fight with Donald Trump.
And Mitch McConnell’s going to war with Donald Trump for this insane reason.
McConnell supports Swamp’s war monger foreign policy
Mitch McConnell said the number one goal of the Republican Party was funding the war in Ukraine.
McConnell wasn’t lying.
This past spring he helped push through a $105 billion foreign bill that included another $6 billion slush fund for the lost war in Ukraine.
Donald Trump picked Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) as his running mate which sent a clear signal about which foreign policy would run in a second Trump administration.
Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine on day one and Vance is the number one opponent of Ukraine funding in the Senate.
“If Ukraine thinks that it’s getting another $60 billion supplemental out of the United States Congress, there’s no way,” Vance said of the last round of Ukraine funding.
The Vance selection enraged McConnell.
In an interview with Punchbowl News, McConnell called Trump’s America First foreign policy “nonsense.”
McConnell once again falsely claimed Trump and Vance were isolationists and smeared them.
“I mean, even the slogans are what they were in the 30s — ‘America First,’” McConnell added.
McConnell plants his flag for Ukraine funding
McConnell continues to act more like the Senator from Ukraine than the Senator from Kentucky.
“[The Ukrainians] know they need to have some signs of success here, which will reassure the democratic countries that they can win,” McConnell told reporters.
McConnell falsely claimed Ukraine was a democracy even though President Volodymyr Zelensky banned churches, opposition political parties and elections.
“The conflict over the summer and how it is perceived to turn out is extremely important in answering the question inevitably coming up in democracies — can they win?” McConnell asked.
McConnell also told reporters that even if Trump and Vance win the election, he will undermine their efforts to end the war in Ukraine at every turn.
“I support the ticket. I also support Ukraine, and I’m going to be arguing, no matter who gets elected president” for deterring Russian aggression McConnell added.
“It’s not just Ukraine, we’ve got worldwide organized authoritarian regimes talking to each other — China, North Korea, Russia, Iran and Iran’s proxies,” McConnell concluded.
McConnell said funding for Ukraine, not the wide open southern border, the $35 trillion national debt nor bringing inflation under control was his number one priority.
Rather, McConnell doubled down on the idea that securing Zelensky’s border was the biggest issue facing America.
“This is a serious challenge,” McConnell concluded. “This is the single largest problem facing the democratic world, no matter who wins the election. And that’s what I’m going to be working on the next couple years.”
