Trump to change the way the White House press briefing room operates
Donald Trump proved the fake news media is utterly powerless and less relevant every day.
The left-wing media pummeled Trump with – according to the Media Research Center – 85 percent negative news coverage during the election.
Trump barely spoke to the legacy press.
Instead, Trump’s media strategy revolved around appearing on podcasts like ones hosted by Joe Rogan.
While the media blabbered on about a comedian’s joke about Puerto Rico, what Trump said about Liz Cheney, or whatever the manufactured outrage of the day was that dominated cable news and the front page of the New York Times, Trump stuck to podcasts with big audiences that actual swing voters listened to and talked about the issues they cared about.
The traditional press was caught flatfooted as the media environment changed beneath their feet.
Kellyanne Conway asked incoming press secretary Karoline Leavitt if Donald Trump would take this opportunity to remake the White House press briefing room.

“It’s very obvious, Karoline, that President Trump has a lot of faith and trust in you to do this job of White House press secretary, even though he communicates directly with the American people, he relies upon the people around him to do the same. So let’s picture you behind the podium for a moment, and you see the White House press corps in front of you. Will it look roughly the same in those rows?” Conway asked.
Traditionally, the Associated Press and the big broadcast networks get the prime seats.
But Leavitt said it’s a new era and the idea of traditional media, with its dwindling audience and influence, dominating the briefing room was over.
“Well, three weeks from today, President Trump will be inaugurated, and I very much look forward to getting behind that podium. He has put together a team of exceptionally qualified individuals to serve in both the White House and across the federal government in his cabinet, and I’m so excited to get to work with my colleagues and my friends to make this country great again,” Leavitt stated.
Leavitt said she was going to look at adding podcasters and other nontraditional media sources to the briefing room as they were more relevant than the left-wing press in today’s America.
“As for the press briefing room, we are certainly exploring ways on how to make sure that room reflects the media habits of the American people in 2024, not in the 1980s,” Leavitt continued.
Leavitt explained that networks like CNN – whose ratings are down 47 percent since the election – and MSNBC – whose primetime ratings plunged 55% since Trump’s win – aren’t actual news sources Americans can trust, so it was time to shake things up.
“And if this election proved anything, it proved that the American people are no longer listening to the mainstream bias, anti-Trump legacy media,” Leavitt added.
“In fact, the ratings of many networks, not this one, but some others are in the tank, and Americans are consuming their news from podcasters, social influencers, and yes, TikTok, as President Trump so exceptionally used on the campaign trail,” Leavitt continued.
There is also a push for Leavitt to ban any media outlet that knowingly lied to the public about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline.
Any newspaper or network that rolled with Karine Jean-Pierre’s lie that videos of Biden looking like he was senile were “cheap fakes” should lose their right to attend White House press briefings.
