Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is facing one of the most difficult paths in Washington.

And Fetterman just committed a major flub.

Now John Fetterman is trying to pull one dirty trick that just blew up in his face.

John Fetterman is up for re-election in 2028.

Pennsylvania is an increasingly red state where the Democrat voter registration advantage dwindled from over 600,000 in 2020 to under 100,000 in 2025.

Fetterman knows the Bernie bro he ran as in his successful 2022 campaign is now political poison.

That’s why Fetterman is trying to reboot his image by speaking to every media outlet that reaches center-right voters and acting like he’s a centrist.

In an interview with Jewish Insider, Fetterman lamented that Democrats were pandering to the far-left base by supporting a government shutdown after Chuck Schumer – as well as Fetterman – voted for a bill to freeze spending.

“I was really the first Democrat to refuse to shut our government down, and my party was so desperate to pander to shut the government down,” Fetterman stated.

Fetterman did admit that shutting down the government would make Democrats look like hypocrites since they spent years calling Republicans who wanted to negotiate for spending cuts terrorists. 

“Absurd, absolutely absurd. Six months ago, we were lecturing the Republicans, ‘You can’t shut the government down.’ Now it’s, ‘Well, yeah, let’s do these things,’” Fetterman continued.

Fetterman claimed that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and others on the Left calling on Democrats to support a government shutdown were just egging on the fringes in hopes of gaining social media clout and raising money.

Instead, Fetterman tried to cast himself as a member of the responsible middle in Washington.

“It’s like that’s part of the problem, to pander, and they want to pander to the extreme parts of our party, to shut the government down. I said I will never burn the village down and claim that I’m saving it,” Fetterman concluded.

This was all a fraud.

If anyone panders to the far Left in the party it’s Fetterman.

Fetterman bragged on social media about voting to block a bill banning biological males from competing in women’s sports.

“The small handful of trans athletes in PA in a political maelstrom deserve an ally and I am one,” Fetterman began.

A New York Times/Ipsos poll found that 79 percent of Americans support banning biological men from playing girls’ sports.

Yet Fetterman pandered to the fringe of his party to make a big show about how he stood with the 21 percent who think men playing women’s sports is a-ok.

“Depersonalized as ‘they/them’ in a political ad, but are just schoolchildren,” Fetterman added. 

“Empty show votes or cruelty on social media aren’t part of a thoughtful, dignified solution,” Fetterman concluded.
