The trend in the data is clear.
Even the media can’t deny what’s happening right in front of their faces.
And now a top journalist gave this damning assessment of Kamala Harris’ chances.
Mark Halperin says election shifting to Trump
Independent journalist Mark Halperin delivered a bleak outlook for Kamala Harris on the latest episode of his Morning Meeting program on the 2way platform.
Halperin warned his Democrat viewers that there was more negative analysis of Kamala Harris’ campaign because that’s what the facts dictate, adding that he can’t get a Democrat anywhere on the phone who feels good about Kamala’s chances of victory.
“Unfortunately for blue America, there’s an asymmetry in what’s going on now. We could spend all day, the three of us, trying to get a Democrat on the phone who was super confident, like, ‘We’re going to win.’ We wouldn’t succeed in terms of political professionals, members of Congress, strategists,” Halperin began.
On the other hand, Halperin said they could pick any random Republican on their contacts list who would be happy to tell him that they feel good about where Donald Trump sits in this race.
“It would take us one call, random dial any Republican in our rolodex, to find someone who said, ‘Yeah, I’m pretty confident we’re going to win.’ Or more,” Halperin continued.
Halperin did suggest that Democrats tend to be more bedwetters than Republicans, but that this was no spin.
“Okay, that’s an asymmetry. It’s just a reality. Some attribute it to cultural differences between the party and there’s something to that,” Halperin added.
But Kamala Harris was in bad shape.
Halperin explained that the early vote numbers, as well as the private and public polling, all gave more reasons to be bullish for Trump and his supporters than Kamala and hers.
“There’s qualitative and quantitative data everywhere you look that things have moved in Trump’s direction and that it will be difficult for her to win, but not impossible. And that is causing a lot of tension in blue America,” Halperin concluded.
More than a vibe shift
There has been a distinct shift in the tone of the coverage of the campaign as media outlets begin to grapple with the fact that Trump is likely to win the election.
Republicans and their partisans talk more confidently of victory.
Democrats on social media feel a sense of panic.
But the sense of optimism on the Right and dread on the Left aren’t just grounded in “vibes.”
There are hard numbers showing the race breaking in Trump’s direction in the late stages of the campaign, as long as Republicans don’t start resting on their laurels and keep pushing turnout.
NBC’s data cruncher Steve Kornacki went over how the polling has shifted from a two to three-point lead for Kamala Harris to dead-even as the campaign enters the home stretch.

The goal of every campaign is to get hot at the end and surge into Election Day with a burst of momentum.
In 2024, that campaign looks like the one belonging to Donald Trump.
