Jim Jordan Revealed the One FBI Briefing He Says Was Designed to Kill Congressional Oversight

The New York Post published the Hunter Biden laptop story in October 2020.

Jim Jordan just revealed what FBI agents told him months before that story ever broke.

What happened inside that briefing room exposes exactly how Congress got blocked from doing its job.

FBI Told Jordan to Stop Investigating Hunter Biden and Called It a Defensive Briefing

In August 2020, FBI agents gave Jordan a defensive briefing on foreign election interference, the same kind of session agents gave Sen. Ron Johnson and Sen. Chuck Grassley on August 6.

Jordan says it was nothing of the kind.

"It was a farce," Jordan said.

He says agents used the meeting to tell him and his colleagues to stop looking into Hunter Biden.

Three House and Senate members doing legitimate oversight work got sat down by the FBI and told to back off a family under active investigation.

That's not a briefing.

That's obstruction wearing a badge.

Jordan Was Listed As Conduit Number Eight On the FBI's Own Spreadsheet

Newly declassified documents show the briefing was tied to a classified FBI counterintelligence operation called Round River.

The operation ran inside the Foreign Influence Task Force starting in December 2019, right as Trump's first impeachment was unfolding.

At least 14 confidential human sources had already reported derogatory information on Joe Biden and Hunter Biden.

The Round River team never corroborated a single one of those allegations.

Instead, analysts with administrative access went back and altered more than 53 informant files to make real reporting look like Russian disinformation.

A spreadsheet named 76 people of interest.

Jordan landed at number eight on the list of "conduits" supposedly spreading Russian disinformation, right behind Rudy Giuliani at number one.

Bill Barr, Mike Pompeo, Johnson, Grassley, Sen. Lindsey Graham, and Rep. Devin Nunes made that same list.

Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and George Soros were filed as "targets" of that same disinformation.

The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee got branded a Russian mouthpiece for doing his job, while the family he was investigating got treated as the victim.

Current FBI Director Kash Patel has since disbanded the Foreign Influence Task Force and promised full reporting from all 53 original sources.

Congress Cannot Do Oversight If the FBI Is Lying to Its Face

Oversight only works if the agency being investigated tells Congress the truth.

Round River proves the FBI decided Jordan and his colleagues didn't get that truth. They got a script instead, one written to make them retreat.

This is the same bureau that ran Crossfire Hurricane for years, chasing a Trump-Russia collusion theory into the ground and ensnaring hundreds of Americans along the way.

Now the documents show agents ran the exact same playbook in reverse, except this time it protected a sitting vice president's family instead of targeting a Republican.

Every member of Congress who got told to stand down in that briefing room now has a declassified paper trail proving they were misled on purpose.

That's not a policy disagreement.

That's a federal law enforcement agency deciding which elected officials get to do their jobs.

Patel Now Controls the Files That Could Prove How Far This Went

Kash Patel disbanding the task force is a start, not an ending.

He is now the one man sitting on the full record of all 53 sources the Round River team buried.

A promise to release files is worth nothing without a subpoena behind it.

Jordan runs the committee with the power to force that release, and his committee already has the receipts to demand it under oath.

FBI agents lied to a sitting House Judiciary chairman's face in a government briefing room.

The next question is simple. Who ordered it, and did anyone above them sign off?

That question will not answer itself.

Congress has to drag it into the open the same way it eventually dragged out Crossfire Hurricane's origins, years after the damage was already done.
