News networks called Hasan Piker for reaction the same week Charlie Kirk was assassinated.

At the time, Piker was a fringe Twitch gamer with a famous uncle, Cenk Uygur, and a fraction of his current audience.

Today he is one of the most powerful media figures on the American left, and Democratic candidates are lining up to appear on his stream.

The clip is spreading now for one simple reason – it turned out to be right.

He is not here to say "I told you so."

So his supporters are saying it for him.

Piker's Rise Went From Twitch Curiosity to Democratic Power Broker

Hasan Piker did not stay a niche gamer for long.

He built a following of millions, launched his own media operation, and became a fixture that Democratic operatives now court for turnout.

Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed campaigned with Piker before his own campaign had to publicly distance itself from Piker's comments about 9/11.

Illinois Democrats have been forced to answer for party members rallying around him too.

Mark Halperin went on camera and called Piker "a horrible person," while a moderate Democratic strategist warned in the same conversation that he's turning into a massive electoral liability for the party.

Even Joe Scarborough – not exactly a MAGA firebrand – tore into the party for refusing to cut Piker loose.

The University of Washington invited Piker to speak on campus this month, then scrapped the event after a wave of backlash and pointed questions about how it ever got approved.

Piker responded to a Scott Jennings clip compilation of his own past comments by claiming that playing his own words back to the public amounts to defamation.

A man with millions of followers and a direct line to sitting Democratic senators says quoting him is the crime.

That is not a debate tactic.

That is a man who knows exactly how bad his own record sounds out loud.

What Kirk Understood About Piker That the Media Refused To

Charlie Kirk's old debate with Piker was not really about tax brackets or healthcare policy.

It was about exposing what happens when someone with a massive platform never has to face consequences for what he says.

Kirk built his entire career debating college socialists on camera, and he did it because he understood something the mainstream media still refuses to admit – these ideas fall apart the second someone asks a real follow-up question.

Piker's socialism sounded clever to a Twitch chat full of teenagers.

It sounds a lot less clever when it is Abdul El-Sayed's Senate campaign trying to explain it to Michigan voters, or when networks are booking Piker for comment in the same week Charlie Kirk was murdered for saying things out loud that the left did not want to hear.

Democrats spent years pretending Piker was a harmless internet personality.

They are only now discovering, in public and on the record, that Charlie Kirk clocked him a decade earlier.

That is the pattern with every socialist media figure the left builds up – Bernie Sanders in the 1980s, the Occupy Wall Street crowd in 2011, and now Piker – ignore the warning, mainstream the ideas, act shocked when the bill comes due.

Democrats are not distancing from Hasan Piker because his politics changed.

They are distancing because the cameras are finally on, and Charlie Kirk already showed America what was underneath a long time ago.
