The Supreme Court was supposed to act as a firewall against Kamala Harris’ lawless conduct.
But conservatives got some bad news.

Kamala Harris wants to make the 2024 election all about abortion.
Democrats think this is their ace in the hole for November.
The Kamala Harris campaign picked up an assist on this front from the supposedly conservative majority on the Supreme Court.
A 6 to 3 majority ruled that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) can financially punish the state of Oklahoma by withholding $4.5 million in family planning grants because Oklahoma refuses to offer abortion referrals.
The ruling left in place an order from the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, which allowed HHS to withhold the money while Oklahoma pursues its appeal.
Oklahoma argued that Title X never mandated that a state must provide abortion referrals in order to get access to federal money.
“Title X does not unambiguously impose an abortion counseling or referral requirement,” Oklahoma’s petition read.
“Therefore, HHS cannot impose an abortion counseling or referral requirement on Title X grantees.”
Oklahoma also contended that the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision kicked the matter of abortion to the states.
The Kamala Harris-Joe Biden administration’s interpretation of Title X “foists upon Oklahoma a requirement concerning an issue that has been recognized as specifically reserved to the people to address.”Â
“HHS deliberately sought to impose the executive branch’s policy preferences on the states, including Oklahoma, and upset the federal state balance on this important issue,” the state argued.

Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar claimed that HHS withholding federal funds from Pro-Life states didn’t interfere with their “ability to restrict abortion within its borders.”
That wasn’t true.
The HHS rule would force red states to promote abortion at the risk of fiscal insolvency.
Prelogar claimed withholding federal money to Oklahoma didn’t cause any issues because the Oklahoma legislature made up the difference.
“The Oklahoma legislature has already provided substitute funding to make up the shortfall created by the termination of last year’s grant, and there is no reason to doubt that it can do the same this year,” Prelogar argued.
But HHS withholding the money meant Oklahoma residents were now taxed twice – once at the state and once at the federal level – to cover the $4.5 million the federal government shortchanged them.
The Kamala Harris-Joe Biden administration is betting red states will soon fold rather than double dip into their budget to pick up the tab for these family planning dollars, even if it means state funded promotion of abortion-on-demand.
This is the blueprint put in place with Obamacare where Democrats figured red states would eventually cave in on the Medicaid expansion over the risk of losing out on taxpayer money.
Democrats got a major assist from the Supreme Court.
