Pritzker Downed a Shot for the Cameras While Illinois Emptied Out Behind Him

JB Pritzker threw back a shot of Malort for the cameras as his state kept losing residents.

He joined three other Democrats who tried to look relatable and ended up looking ridiculous instead.

Illinois' governor picked the worst possible moment to celebrate himself on camera.

Schumer Cannot Grill and He Cannot Hide It

Schumer posted a Father's Day photo of himself standing over a hot grill, cheese draped across a raw beef patty.

Donald Trump Jr. summed up the internet's reaction in one line: "literally no one puts cheese on a raw beef patty."

Senator Mike Lee joked he'd trust nearly anything more than that burger.

Within hours, Schumer scrubbed the photo from his account, but the screenshots had already gone everywhere.

He is not the first Democrat to get cooked by a grill photo – Terry McAuliffe and Cal Cunningham both posted staged BBQ pictures before losing their own races.

Walz Could Not Load His Shotgun

Tim Walz spent 2024 selling himself as Kamala Harris's hunting buddy, the coach who knows guns.

Then cameras caught him struggling to load a shotgun on a pheasant hunt in his home state.

Gun owners online tore the footage apart, comparing Walz to Elmer Fudd within minutes of it hitting social media.

A man who signed gun laws for a living could not work the gun he brought as a prop.

Talarico Rented the Truck He Drove for the Cameras

Texas Senate candidate James Talarico built a campaign ad called "Waking Up" around footage of him climbing into a Dodge Ram.

Reporter David Weigel traced the truck's license plate to an Enterprise rental lot.

Talarico normally drives a Chevy Colorado, a smaller truck that apparently did not scream "real Texan" loud enough for the ad.

He never explained why he needed someone else's Ram to play cowboy for the cameras.

Pritzker Took His Shot While Illinois Packed the Moving Trucks

JB Pritzker has spent years insisting Illinois isn't bleeding residents, even as his administration's numbers say otherwise.

IRS data show roughly 87,000 people left Illinois in a single recent year, taking nearly $10 billion in income with them.

Illinois Policy found that 84% of Illinois communities have shrunk since April 2020, with more than 347,000 people fleeing the Chicago area alone.

Pritzker's answer to that exodus was a video of himself pounding a shot of Malort on camera.

He later posted another self-styled "governor-maxxing" clip, striking model poses for over a million views, and conservative commentator Matt Walsh said he looked frail in the face and heavy everywhere else.

Neither video mentioned the moving trucks.

Losing State Turns Its Governor Into a Punchline

None of this is an accident, and it is not new either.

John Kerry windsurfed his way into a campaign ad that Republicans turned into the defining image of a candidate with no fixed positions.

Michael Dukakis climbed into a tank and looked so ridiculous doing it that the photo became shorthand for a phony show of toughness.

Walz, Schumer, Talarico and Pritzker just gave Republicans four fresh versions of the same fumble in barely two years.

Every one of these stunts exists because Democrats know their actual record cannot sell itself, so they reach for a prop – a gun, a grill, a truck, a shot glass – hoping nobody notices what is happening underneath it.

In Illinois, what's happening underneath it is families loading moving vans and driving to Texas, Florida and Indiana while the man in charge poses for TikTok.

A governor who cannot keep residents from leaving does not get to distract them with a drinking video, and voters watching their neighbors pack up are not going to forget which party asked them to laugh along first.
