Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy and Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre are known for their sparring during briefings.
Their latest encounter was something else entirely, however.
And Peter Doocy grilled Karine Jean-Pierre and then something unbelievable happened.
Doocy confronts Jean-Pierre
Karine Jean-Pierre held her first press briefing since Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Kamala Harris as his successor.
When it came time for Jean-Pierre to call on Doocy, Doocy immediately pressed Jean-Pierre on Harris’ failed tenure as Biden’s border czar.
“[S]he’s been in charge of root causes of migration for years,” Doocy began.
“She has never spoken with the Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens or the Border Patrol chief before him, Raul Ortiz. What should that tell us about her leadership style?” Doocy asked.
Jean-Pierre – like the entire media – tried to pretend that Harris was never actually the border czar.

“She was supposed to be doing root causes dealing with diplomacy,” Jean-Pierre replied.
“Diplomacy. That’s what her job was supposed to be. Diplomatic. That’s the job.”
Other reporters not happy
Doocy was silent when Jean-Pierre finished her response.
That led to Jean-Pierre asking Doocy if he had anything else to ask.
This greatly annoyed Newsmax’s James Rosen who felt others should get a chance to ask a question.
“You control the briefing room, not Peter. Come on,” Rosen piped up.
“One more,” Doocy said to Jean-Pierre.
“Unbelievable,” Rosen interjected.
“I get that you don’t–,” Doocy started to say, understanding Rosen’s frustration about not being called on.
“It’s good to see you too, James,” Jean-Pierre stated.
Doocy then proceeded to ask his follow up question.
Reporters like Rosen from smaller outlets like Newsmax often feel left out of the White House press briefing no matter who is the press secretary.
The big legacy media outlets get called on every single briefing so their networks have content for nightly newscasts.
Reporters from major print publications like the New York Times and Associated Press always get a question as well.
Rosen – and correspondents from less prominent outlets – almost never get called on.
That disparity in the ability to ask questions for someone like Rosen – who works for a conservative outlet – is even more pronounced with a press secretary like Jean-Pierre.
Jean-Pierre is almost incapable of answering a question unless she can leaf through the giant white binder she lugs to the podium with her to find some kind of prepared response.
Reporters from conservative outlets are more likely to ask tougher questions that Jean-Pierre can’t prepare for, so she ignores them.
Doocy – and his fellow Fox correspondent Jacqui Heinrich – get called on every briefing because Jean-Pierre knows Fox News is too big to ignore.
