Peter Doocy Asked Trump About His Face on the 250 Dollar Bill and Trump Gave an Answer Worth Every Penny

Jun 6, 2026

Peter Doocy just asked Trump whether he'd ever tip anyone with a $250 bill bearing his own face.

Trump has already put his signature on every dollar printed in America – and his supporters are pushing hard to put his portrait on a brand-new denomination.

What Trump said next is going to make Hakeem Jeffries even angrier than he already is.

Scott Bessent Confirmed the Trump $250 Bill Design Already Exists

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent held up a mock-up of the $250 bill at the White House briefing room last week and confirmed the department had been preparing it for months.

The bill would honor America's 250th anniversary and feature Trump's portrait and signature on a denomination that has never existed in U.S. history.

"It's all up on Capitol Hill," Bessent said. "At Treasury, we prepare things in advance."

The mock-up shows Trump's presidential portrait at the center, flanked by two signatures – his own and Bessent's.

Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina introduced the Donald J. Trump $250 Bill Act in February 2025, directing Treasury to print the commemorative note.

Federal law has barred any living person from appearing on U.S. currency since 1866.

Congress needs to pass Wilson's bill – currently stalled in the House Financial Services Committee – and then clear the Senate with 60 votes before a single note gets printed.

Democrats are expected to try to block it at every step.

When The Washington Post broke the story, Bessent didn't run from it.

He held the article up at the briefing room podium and called it "terribly written" and "terribly edited."

Then Doocy stepped up with the question everyone wanted answered.

He asked Trump whether he'd ever tip anyone with anything but a bill bearing his own face.

Trump laughed and said he'd probably leave it for everyone – then noted he'd seen the push from supporters just two days earlier.

"I'm honored that they're doing it," Trump said. "They really like the job we're doing."

Hakeem Jeffries Vowed to Kill the Trump Portrait on US Currency

Hakeem Jeffries posted three words the moment the story broke: "Get over yourself."

The full post read: "Hard No on a Trump $250 bill. The upcoming July 4th anniversary is not about a wannabe King."

He wasn't done.

On SiriusXM radio, Jeffries called the bill "Monopoly money" and said it was "the most ridiculous thing in the world."

Senator Adam Schiff posted asking if Trump should help Americans with their bills instead of putting his face on one.

Democrats are also fighting Trump's signature on redesigned passports and blocking legislation to feature Trump on commemorative coins and park passes.

Every battle they pick is a reminder of how little they have left to offer.

The Fox News clip of Trump's exchange with Doocy has already logged nearly a million views – and it's still climbing.

Democrats Are Blocking the Trump $250 Bill and Losing Anyway

The last living person to appear on American currency was in 1866.

Trump would be the first in 160 years – and the only one to get there because the American people demanded it, not because Washington handed it to him.

His signature is already going on every new $100 bill printed starting this month.

His portrait could follow.

Hakeem Jeffries called it "Monopoly money" and "the most ridiculous thing in the world."

Coming from the man who watched his party collapse at every level of government in 2024, that's not an insult.

That's a compliment.
