Pelosi Explodes at “Pillow Guy” Reporter Asking About January 6 and Demands She Get Away

Jun 6, 2026

Nancy Pelosi has spent years calling January 6 the greatest threat to democracy in American history.

Now she's ordering reporters to shut up for asking about it.

One question about the National Guard Thursday cornered Pelosi on Capitol Hill – and she came completely unglued.

Pelosi's Answer to the National Guard Question

LindellTV reporter Alison Steinberg approached Pelosi outside the Capitol and asked a straightforward question: was Pelosi at all concerned the new Republican-led January 6 subcommittee would find her liable for the security failures that day?

Pelosi didn't answer. She walked away.

Steinberg followed. "Why did you refuse the National Guard on January 6?"

That's when Pelosi stopped, wheeled around, and delivered her response.

"I'll tell you to shut up again," Pelosi snapped, "because you're speaking lies."

She then attacked the reporter's credibility, demanding to know if she worked for "Mike the pillow man" and declaring LindellTV "not journalism." When Steinberg confirmed she worked there proudly – and offered Pelosi a free pillow – Pelosi ended the exchange with two words: "Get away from me."

This was the second time Pelosi told Steinberg to shut up over the identical question – first in October 2025, again Thursday.

What the January 6 National Guard Footage Actually Shows

Here's what Pelosi doesn't want America talking about.

Her own daughter filmed her on January 6. The footage went to HBO, then to congressional investigators. Republicans released it.

In that footage, Pelosi is caught on camera grilling her own staff about why the National Guard wasn't deployed. "I take responsibility for not having them just prepared for more," Pelosi said on the tape. "We have totally failed. We have to take some responsibility."

That's Nancy Pelosi, on camera, filmed by her own daughter, taking responsibility for the security failures on January 6.

The same Nancy Pelosi who just told a reporter she was "speaking lies" for asking about it.

Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund put the facts on record. He requested National Guard assistance on January 3, 2021 – three days before the riot. The Sergeant at Arms denied him. Under federal law, Sund was prohibited from calling in the Guard without specific approval from the Sergeant at Arms – and he was denied eleven more times on January 6 itself while the Capitol was actively under attack.

The People Who Already Know

Republicans haven't let this go. Speaker Mike Johnson formed a new January 6 subcommittee specifically to re-examine the security failures the first committee buried. That's the committee Steinberg was asking Pelosi about when Pelosi exploded.

Georgia Republican Congressman Barry Loudermilk, who chairs the House Committee on Administration, put it plainly: "For over three years, Nancy Pelosi has refused to take responsibility for her failure to secure the Capitol grounds on January 6, 2021. Instead, she has pushed the focus of the failure on President Trump."

She's still doing it.

Pelosi built her entire political legacy on January 6 – impeachments, investigations, primetime hearings. She used it to go after Trump, to destroy Republican careers, to position herself as the defender of American democracy.

And when one reporter asks her a single question about her own role, she screams shut up and runs.

That's not the behavior of someone with nothing to hide. That's the behavior of someone who knows exactly what the answer looks like.
