Marshall Confessed the Real Reason He Says Trump Skipped His Second Kansas Visit

Nov 2, 2026

Donald Trump called Kansas Democrat Adam Hamilton a radical lunatic pretending to be a moderate.

Now Trump has scrapped a follow-up rally in a state Republicans have held since 1919.

Marshall just revealed the real reason Trump isn't coming back.

Trump Called Hamilton a Radical Leftist Lunatic in Front of Six Thousand Fans

President Trump packed Heartland Credit Union Arena outside Wichita on October 19 to campaign for Sen. Roger Marshall.

He told the crowd Marshall was "given a bum rap" over reports about old medical debt lawsuits and insisted "he didn't do it."

He called Hamilton "radical left," a "lunatic," and a "bad person" who is "pretending to be a moderate."

He called Marshall "one of the greatest senators in our country."

Trump also unveiled a "harvest fuel relief" plan for farmers and promised every adult five thousand dollars if Republicans hold Congress.

Now a planned follow-up trip to Kansas is gone, replaced on Trump's schedule by virtual events instead.

Marshall told reporters exactly why Trump isn't coming back.

He's doing so well in the polls, Marshall said, that Trump has "probably got better places to spend his time."

Kansas is not the only state on Trump's travel list this fall.

He has also been working tight Senate races in Iowa, Texas, Ohio, and Michigan, spreading his schedule across every battleground that still looks winnable.

A president only has so many weekends left before Election Day, and every one he spends in Kansas is one he cannot spend somewhere tighter.

Marshall's Explanation Checks Out Against the Numbers That Actually Move Money

Betting markets have Marshall sitting at 63 percent on Polymarket to Hamilton's 38 percent, and bettors are wagering real money, not answering a stranger's phone call.

Democrats are still waving around three public polls to argue otherwise.

YouGov has Hamilton ahead 48 percent to 45 percent.

InsiderAdvantage has Hamilton up 47.5 percent to 46.7 percent.

Trafalgar Group has Hamilton leading 44.4 percent to 43.5 percent.

Every one of those leads sits inside that poll's margin of error, which is pollster language for a coin flip, not a Hamilton surge.

Hamilton himself seemed almost happy to see Trump come to Kansas at all.

Hamilton told reporters he read the trip as proof Washington felt it needed to send "the most powerful man in the country," then added, "I think it's only gonna hurt him."

Kansas Has Not Elected a Democrat Senator Since 1932

This seat has stayed Republican since 1919, longer than any other Senate seat in America has stayed with one party.

No Democrat has won a Kansas Senate race since 1932, according to Florida Atlantic University professor Craig Agranoff.

Trump carried Kansas by sixteen points over Kamala Harris in 2024.

A Hamilton win would not just flip a seat, it would end a Republican streak older than Social Security itself.

That history is exactly why Trump flew to Wichita in the first place, and exactly why Marshall is leaning so hard on Trump's absence now to make his case.

The president's party almost always loses ground in a midterm election, a pattern that has held for decades regardless of who sits in the Oval Office.

Republicans know that history as well as anyone, which is why holding a seat this old would be treated as proof the 2026 map broke in their favor, not against it.

Trump's $5000 Promise Shows Exactly Why He Trusts Marshall to Close This Out

Marshall's explanation for Trump's absence lines up with how the president is actually spending his time this fall.

Trump is still writing checks for this race without having to show up in person to do it.

Five thousand dollars per adult and diesel relief for farmers do not require a stage in Wichita, they just require Republicans to win in November.

Trump used his first twenty minutes onstage in Kansas to talk about Michigan, not Marshall, because he is running a national map, not a single state.

That is not a snub to Marshall, it is Trump trusting the Kansas ground game enough to point his biggest weapon somewhere closer to the edge, exactly the calculation Marshall says is happening.

Democrats have not flipped this seat in nearly a century, and a handful of close public polls two weeks out are not the same thing as an actual win.

The betting markets, a 107-year Republican grip on this seat, and where Trump is actually spending his travel budget all point to the same place Marshall already landed.

Hamilton already told reporters a Trump visit could backfire on Republicans, which means even the Democrat in this race understands exactly how red Kansas still runs underneath a close poll or two.
