Leftist agitators forced Donald Trump to cancel a Chicago rally in March 2016.
Ten years later, a screaming heckler tried to hijack his rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Trump stopped mid-sentence and turned the interruption into a roast nobody saw coming.
Trump Was Seconds From His Biggest Line of the Night
Trump came to the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center on October 29 to hold a Senate seat Republicans cannot afford to lose.
Trump-endorsed Senator Darline Graham is locked in a dead heat with Democrat Annie Andrews.
A New York Times/Siena poll has the two tied at 48 percent apiece.
Fox News moved the race from "Lean Republican" to "Toss Up" in its Power Rankings.
This is a state Trump carried by double digits in 2024.
Every seat Democrats steal in a state like this is a seat closer to handing the Senate back to Chuck Schumer.
So the president showed up with one job – get Republicans to the polls.
He was building toward the most important line of the night.
Then the protestors erupted.
Trump didn't flinch, and he didn't let the man have the moment.
He sized the guy up as a sloppy-looking dope and lumped him in with the rest of the losers who pull this stunt.
Then he named the racket.
These disruptors are trained and paid, Trump said, and they're not even good at the job.
And he landed the observation every rally-goer has noticed for a decade.
"But they always hit me right at the punch line," Trump said.
The crowd cheered as security walked the heckler out.

Not everybody in that arena came to scream.
Members of Winthrop University's men's golf team turned out too, and they told an interviewer they're behind Trump and the Republican ticket.
That is the Rock Hill the cameras should have been pointed at – young men from a local campus standing with the president, not one guy hollering at him.
This wasn't the first ambush of the South Carolina campaign, either.
In August, a protester stood up and broke into Trump's Myrtle Beach rally for Graham before police and convention center staff escorted the person out.
Trump had a one-liner ready for that one too.
"Gonna get scolded because mom is voting for us," Trump said.
Democrat Operatives Bragged On Tape About Planting Agitators At Trump Rallies
The left loves to laugh at Trump for calling hecklers paid protesters.
The laughing stopped in October 2016.
Undercover videos from Project Veritas caught Democrat operatives describing how they sent agitators into Trump events.
Bob Creamer, head of the Democrat consulting shop Democracy Partners, bragged that his outfit had a team across the country staging events wherever Trump and Mike Pence showed up.
Scott Foval, national field director for Americans United for Change, described planting people at Trump rallies to provoke fights.
His advice to the plants was to "draw them to punch you."
And that Chicago rally that got shut down in March 2016?
Aaron Black, a Democracy Partners operative working rapid response for the DNC, claimed his side was behind the protest that killed it and gave Creamer most of the credit.
Then he said the quiet part out loud, admitting that "none of this is supposed to come back to us."
Within days, Foval was out of a job and Creamer had stepped back from the effort to elect Hillary Clinton.
None of that came from a Trump speech.
It came out of the mouths of the people running the operation.
So when Trump looks at a man screaming over his get-out-the-vote pitch and says "paid protester," he has receipts that go back ten years.
SC Hasn't Sent a Democrat to the Senate This Century – Unless You Count Lindsey Graham
The line that heckler interrupted was simple.
Trump was telling South Carolina that early voting is already underway.
Republicans in this state can't hear that enough before November 3.
Annie Andrews doesn't win this race by flipping Trump voters.
She wins it if enough of them stay home.
Every heckler who turns a turnout rally into a shouting match is doing her campaign a favor, whether anyone signed his paycheck or not.
Trump has dealt with this act since 2016, and he knows the goal is to make the disruption the headline instead of the message.
He refused to play along.
He took his shot at the guy and went right back to telling South Carolina to vote early.
A tie in a state Trump won going away doesn't stay tied if Republicans show up.
The heckler got a free walk to the parking lot.
South Carolina got the reminder anyway.
