Kamala Harris campaign creates fake scandal to distract from Afghanistan withdrawalÂ
The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021 kicked off the polling slump for the Kamala Harris-Biden administration.
On the third-year anniversary of that debacle, Donald Trump attended a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington Cemetery where he honored the sacrifice of 13 U.S. service members killed in the terrorist attack at Abbey Gate.
The Gold Star families invited both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris to attend.
But as she’s done for the last three years, Kamala Harris ignored the family members of the fallen soldiers who paid the price for her incompetently executed withdrawal.
Kamala Harris tried to distract from this negative news cycle by engineering a story about how the real scandal was the fact that Donald Trump showed up to honor the request of the Gold Star families to attend the ceremony.
The Kamala Harris campaign latched onto allegations in the liberal media about a cemetery official and Donald Trump’s campaign officials getting into an altercation to create the latest phony Trump outrage.
“Donald Trump’s team chose to film a video there, resulting in an altercation with cemetery staff. Let me be clear: the former president disrespected sacred ground, all for the sake of a political stunt,” Kamala Harris wrote on X.
As Vice President, I have had the privilege of visiting Arlington National Cemetery several times. It is a solemn place; a place where we come together to honor American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of this nation.

Kamala’s big mistakeÂ
But Kamala Harris was out way over her skis.
The Trump campaign released a powerful video of the Gold Star family members revealing that they invited Donald Trump to the grave sites for their children and asked him to document the occasion.
In this video, the Gold Star family members slammed Kamala Harris for refusing to speak with them for three years.
Trump later posted on Truth Social that the Kamala Harris campaign invented a fake scandal so as to shield Kamala Harris from accountability for the deaths of the U.S. service members at Abbey Gate.
“There was no conflict or “fighting” at Arlington National Cemetery last week. It was a made up story by Comrade Kamala and her misinformation squad. She made it all up to make up for the fact that she and Sleepy Joe have BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS for the INCOMPETENT AFGHANISTAN Withdrawal – THE MOST EMBARRASSING DAY IN U.S. HISTORY!!!” Trump wrote.
“They should have been at Arlington, not on a beach or studying for a Debate. Thank you to my friends, the GREAT GOLD STAR FAMILIES, for revealing the TRUTH OF A BEAUTIFUL DAY OF HONOR. Could not have been a nicer moment-And there were no fights or problems, only in the heads of those that are destroying our Country! MAGA2024,” Trump added.
Republicans can’t understand why Kamala Harris picked this fight.
The longer it goes on, the more prevalent the story of Kamala Harris smearing Gold Star families as liars drags on.
It also has the added effect of keeping attention on the bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan, which is one of Kamala Harris’ chief failures in office.
