Joe Biden’s prison exchange attack falls flat
Joe Biden agreed to a prisoner exchange, swamping numerous Russian criminals – even one who’s a political assassin – for three Americans held in Russia on false charges, including former Marine Paul Whelan and Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich.
Critics – Donald Trump among them – slammed Biden for engaging in a lopsided trade.
At the press event announcing the deal, a confused Biden grew angry.
“Why didn’t he do it when he was president,” the 81-year-old Biden snapped at reporters who asked him about Trump’s comments, saying the former President could have freed the hostages if he won the election.
But in another example showing how not ready for primetime the Biden-Harris administration is, two of the three hostages were seized by Russians during Biden’s Presidency.

Trump and J.D. Vance respond
Trump slammed Biden for trying to keep secret the details of who Biden gave up to Russia to win back the Americans.
“So when are they going to release the details of the prisoner swap with Russia? How many people do we get versus them? Are we also paying them cash? Are they giving us cash (Please withdraw that question, because I’m sure the answer is NO)? Are we releasing murderers, killers, or thugs?” Trump inquired in a post on social media.
The last time Biden made a prison swap with Russia, he traded the notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout – a man nicknamed the “merchant of death” – for the national anthem-protesting women’s basketball player Brittney Griner.
“Just curious because we never make good deals, at anything, but especially hostage swaps. Our “negotiators” are always an embarrassment to us! I got back many hostages, and gave the opposing Country NOTHING – and never any cash,” Trump added.
Trump slammed the deal as putting a price tag on the heads of U.S. citizens abroad, with the Biden-Harris administration deal signaling to hostile countries that they can now kidnap Americans and reap rewards.
“To do so is bad precedent for the future. That’s the way it should be, or this situation will get worse and worse. They are extorting the United States of America. They’re calling the trade ‘complex’ – That’s so nobody can figure out how bad it is!” Trump concluded.
Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance told CNN the deal was evidence that Russia knew Donald Trump was going to win the election, so they extracted concessions from Joe Biden before Americans voted on November 5.
“We certainly want these Americans to come back home. It was ridiculous that they were in prison, to begin with, but we have to ask ourselves, ‘Why are they coming home?’” Vance stated.
“And I think it’s because bad guys all over the world recognize Donald Trump’s about to be back in office, so they’re cleaning house,” Vance concluded.
