Bidenflation already erased your raise while corporate profits kept hitting record highs every single quarter.
Democratic strategist James Carville just went on television and revealed what his party plans to do next.
Carville said the quiet part out loud about what's coming for every business in America.
Carville Reveals the Corporate Tax Hike Democrats Are Planning
James Carville sat down with Ari Melber on MS NOW's "The Beat" this week.
Melber brought up wage growth and corporate profits.
Carville didn't hesitate.
"Tax the hell out of it," Carville said.
"Corporate taxes are going to go up in this country and you're going to pay more, and there's going to be fewer loopholes."
Carville said the tax code needs to be rewritten to squeeze corporations harder.
Then he made his real intention clear.
"We're going to take that money and put it back in the country," Carville said.
That is not a fringe opinion from a random cable guest.
James Carville built Bill Clinton's campaign machine and has spent decades whispering in Democrat leadership's ear.
When Carville tells you the plan, he is telling you the plan.
Democrats already tried this exact move once before.
Joe Biden spent his first year in office pushing to raise the corporate tax rate from 21 percent to 28 percent.
That hike was baked into the Build Back Better package and Biden's infrastructure plan.
It collapsed only because Democrats couldn't hold their own party together in the Senate.
Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer ran the same "tax the corporations" message throughout 2021.
Voters didn't buy it then, and prices only kept climbing after Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act anyway.
Carville is now road-testing the exact same pitch ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Economists Say Workers Not Corporations Pay the Corporate Tax Bill
Democrats love to pretend a corporate tax hike only hits rich CEOs and faceless boardrooms.
The Tax Foundation found that labor bears between 50 percent and 100 percent of the actual cost of corporate taxes, with 70 percent or higher the most likely outcome.
A corporation doesn't eat that bill.
It cuts your hours, freezes your raise, or raises the price of everything you buy.
Heritage Foundation researchers ran the numbers on a 28 percent corporate rate like the one Biden pushed and Carville is now reviving.
Wages would fall by roughly 1.27 percent under that plan.
That works out to about $840 a year ripped straight out of the median worker's pocket.
A separate Tax Foundation model of that same 28 percent rate found wages falling even further, by 1.8 percent over the long run, while wiping out roughly 159,000 jobs nationwide.
Heritage's own modeling put the broader economic hit at about $1,650 per household in lost GDP.
Grover Norquist has spent years warning Republicans that these hikes get sold as punishment for corporations and land squarely on regular families instead.
Carville isn't proposing a tax on Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk out of some corporate boardroom.
He's proposing a tax on the guy who stocks shelves at the plant down the road when that plant cuts his shift to cover the bill.
Look at a mid-size manufacturer running on 8 percent margins, the kind that builds parts for the auto industry in Ohio or Michigan.
A jump from 21 percent to 28 percent doesn't come out of some hedge fund's dividend check.
It comes out of the overtime budget, the new-hire freeze, and the raise that was supposed to land in January.
Multiply that one plant by every factory, grocery chain, and trucking company in the country, and Carville's applause line turns into a pay cut nobody voted for.
Democrats Are Preparing to Run This Play Again in 2026
A tax hike sold as revenge on Wall Street always lands on Main Street instead.
Carville isn't hiding the goal anymore, and that's what should worry you.
He's not talking about closing some obscure offshore loophole for hedge fund billionaires.
He's talking about a blanket rate hike that Heritage and the Tax Foundation both say guts paychecks and kills jobs.
Watch for Chuck Schumer and Democratic leadership to pick up this exact talking point heading into the midterms.
They learned nothing from 2021, and Carville just told you they're ready to try it all over again.
