Americans breathed a sigh of relief that a second assassination attempt against Donald Trump failed.
But there are a lot of unanswered questions.
And J.D. Vance exposed this dirty secret about the Trump assassination attempt.
J.D. Vance calls out media double standard
The level of media bias at play in the 2024 campaign is now reaching dangerous levels.
It was one thing for ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis to rig the debate with Donald Trump using incorrect “fact checks” and slanted questions.
But after the second assassination attempt against Donald Trump, the press’ reaction was essentially “don’t miss next time.”
J.D. Vance called out the media double standard in a lengthy post on X where Vance noted that the assassin slapped a Kamala Harris bumper sticker on his car and repeated her campaign slogan about “democracy is on the ballot” in his social media posts.
Yet media outlets bent over backwards to distance Kamala Harris’ rhetoric about Donald Trump being a threat to democracy and even tried to minimize the assassination attempt or blame Trump.
“NBC News called the attempted assassination a ‘golf club incident.’ The Los Angeles Times told us ‘Trump Targeted at Golf Club.’ USA Today’s top-of-the-fold headline on Monday was ‘Hope in America,’ and the paper published a preposterous letter to the editor arguing that Trump ‘brings these assassination attempts on himself.’ CNN’s Dana Bash — who bizarrely accused me of inciting a bomb threat — said Monday that Harris campaign rhetoric didn’t motivate Routh even though he echoed that rhetoric explicitly,” Vance wrote.
The difference in coverage
Vance highlighted how the PBS weekend news show gave short shrift to the Trump assassination attempt while claiming Vance and Trump were the ones inciting violence.
“The weekend news show on PBS perfectly illustrated the double standard of Kamala Harris’ media friends. After spending 30 seconds on the second attempt on President Trump’s life, the show then focused on the real danger: Trump and me,” Vance added.
Vance said that PBS reporters falsely blamed him for 33 bomb threats called in to the town of Springfield, Ohio, after Vance raised the issue of his constituents reporting to his Senate office that some of the 20,000 Haitian migrants that now live in the town thanks to Kamala Harris’ amnesty program were eating people’s pets.
These reports were even more irresponsible – Vance explained – because Ohio Governor Mike DeWine subsequently revealed that these bomb threats were hoaxes that originated overseas.
“According to the talking heads at PBS, we are personally responsible for bomb threats against residents of Springfield, Ohio. Never mind that I repeatedly condemned those threats. And subsequent reports suggest they came from a foreign country, not a deranged Trump fan as the media suggested,” Vance continued.
The media invented a new hoax – J.D. Vance and Donald Trump inspired bomb threats in Springfield and ran wild with it which allowed the press to ignore the real story, which is that the Left is the real source of political violence in America.
