Democrats are overjoyed at Kamala Harris’ prospects heading into the stretch run of the election.
Real Time host Bill Maher is in that group.
And now Bill Maher made one 2024 prediction that Trump supporters are going to hate.
Bill Maher claims debate spells the end of Donald Trump
Bill Maher was among the media liberals crowing about Kamala Harris’ debate performance.
Maher told his panelists and audience that he was one of the first to raise the alarm that Trump would be a dictator – which Maher falsely claimed came true – so he supposedly had the credibility to pronounce the Trump era over.
“I think I have the credibility for this prediction, because I have been called a Trump alarmist for a very long time,” Maher stated. “They were wrong. I was right. He wasn’t going to leave power. Okay.”
Maher compared Trump following the debate to staggered and mortally-wounded villains at the end of a movie, right before another character delivered the kill shot to declare that the election was over, and Trump was going to lose.
“Tonight, I’m saying, I think it’s over,” Maher exclaimed. “I feel like we’re at the Captain Queeg with the strawberries. We’re at Denzel at the End of Training Day. ‘I’m King Kong.’ I just think he’s going to lose.”
Warnings of a Trump comeback
Never Trump pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson didn’t share Maher’s confidence in Trump’s political demise.
Anderson hinted that Democrats were putting too much faith in the polls and pointed to one troubling number for Kamala Harris.
“I do not share your confidence in knowing how this is going to go. I mean, I know people don’t think that the polls are very accurate. So, setting all of that aside, the reality is that people have known Donald Trump and known who he is for a very long time,” Anderson began.
Anderson cited the most recent New York Times/Siena poll that found nearly 30 percent of voters still need to learn more about Kamala Harris.
The flip side was voters know everything there is to know about Donald Trump and the race is still a coin flip.
“And when you ask people, do you need to know more about these candidates? With Kamala Harris, they say yes, like three in 10 people say, I feel like I need to know more in order to make a decision. But when you ask that about Donald Trump, only a fraction of voters say that they do. And so people know who he is, and yet he’s still competitive. You look at these battleground states, they’re still 50-50. He’s hanging in there,” Anderson added.
The media, Democrat Party, and even the GOP establishment left Trump for dead after the Access Hollywood tape dropped in October 2016.
Trump came back to win that election.
Anderson thinks Democrats are getting out over their skis as Kamala Harris is still a fundamentally flawed candidate.
Past polling errors combined with Kamala Harris’ weakness means Maher is jumping the gun on his prediction of Donald Trump’s defeat.
