But even Trump’s most loyal fans will not be happy about this.
And Donald Trump just made one endorsement that left his supporters shaking their heads in disbelief.
Donald Trump took back control of the Republican Party from the Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan establishment wing of the GOP after he came down the golden escalator in 2016.
After pulling off the greatest political comeback in American history to become the 47th President, Donald Trump’s takeover of the Republican Party is complete.
Not only is Trump the leader of the GOP, but he is also wildly popular among Republican voters across the country.
Trump’s influence makes him the most-coveted endorsement a Republican candidate can get.
Going all the way back to 2018, Trump’s endorsement catapulted Ron DeSantis to victory in Florida’s gubernatorial primary.
Today, Trump’s endorsement in a Republican Primary is effectively a death blow to the rest of the GOP field.
This is wonderful when Trump helps conservative candidates take on and defeat the establishment.
But sometimes Trump makes an endorsement that leaves his supporters disappointed.
On Tuesday, Donald Trump made a string of endorsements in a series of posts on Truth Social.
Trump endorsed Senators Bill Hagerty of Tennessee, Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, and Representative John McGuire of Virginia.
But it was Trump’s glowing endorsement of Lindsey Graham that caught everyone by surprise.
“Senator Lindsey Graham is working incredibly hard for the Great People of South Carolina, a State I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024!” Trump wrote. “Lindsey has been a wonderful friend to me, and has always been there when I needed him,” Trump continued. “As the Chair of the Senate Budget Committee, Lindsey is fighting tirelessly to Grow the Economy, Lower Taxes, and Eliminate Government Waste.”
“Lindsey is also relentlessly focused on helping us Secure the Border, Stop Migrant Crime, Strongly Support our Great Military/Vets, Promote American Energy DOMINANCE, Defend our always under siege Second Amendment, and ensure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH,” Trump wrote. “Senator Lindsey Graham has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN,” he continued. “Everyone in South Carolina should help Lindsey have a BIG WIN next year!”
Donald Trump’s endorsement was shocking not because of who it was, but because of what he said about Graham.
Lindsey Graham has a long history of stabbing conservatives in the back and cutting deals with Democrats in the Swamp.
Graham helped Joe Biden rush a record-breaking number of left-wing judges through their confirmations.
He’s been one of the leading voices for amnesty in the Senate.
Graham supports gun control and endless foreign wars.
The RINO thanked Trump for his endorsement.
“President Trump’s endorsement means the world to me,” he wrote. “I am humbled by his faith in me as a Senator and as a friend,” he continued. “On a professional level, I am proud to have been there at the beginning when President Trump — through sheer force of will —achieved the greatest political comeback in American history.”
Trump sang a different tune about Lindsey Graham in the past.
He called him a RINO.
“I mean, Lindsey’s a nice guy, but he’s a RINO,” Trump previously said.
Trump was right when he said Graham is a RINO.
He is wrong now when he portrays him as a conservative hero.
