Bill Maher said four words about NPR that left Democrats red with rage

Liberal comedian Bill Maher has never had anything nice to say about Donald Trump.

But Maher is also not a fan of the modern Democrat Party.

And Bill Maher said four words about NPR that left Democrats red with rage.

Elon Musk and his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are on a mission to find $1 trillion in waste, fraud, and abuse to cut from the federal budget.

As part of this effort, DOGE is looking to cut off taxpayer funding to NPR.

Republicans have long pointed out the massive left-wing bias at NPR.

According to reports, NPR employs 87 registered Democrats in editorial positions in Washington, D.C.

There are no Republicans in the same position at NPR.

During an Oversight Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) pointed out that NPR’s “CEOs deflected and could not answer basic questions regarding their organization’s blatant media bias and misinformation.”

“Yesterday, I called the heads of publicly funded NPR and PBS to testify before my Subcommittee on DOGE,” Greene said.

At the hearing, the executives claimed that there was no left-wing bias at NPR.

“Putting an end to the abuse of taxpayer dollars is a team effort between President Trump’s administration and the Republican-controlled Congress, and yesterday’s hearing showed why it has to happen,” Greene said. “Congress must back up President Trump’s call to action and defund this PR arm of the Democrat party because taxpayers should never be forced to pay a single penny for programs that alienate and attack the majority of Americans.”

Of course, Democrats and their allies in the media push back against claims of left-wing bias at NPR.

But liberal comedian Bill Maher set the record straight during a recent episode of his show Real Time on HBO.

“I also read my namesake, Katherine Maher, who is head of NPR, and she said we are completely unbiased,” Maher said. “Give me a break lady,” he continued, before adding that “they’re crazy far-left.”

Maher even questioned why NPR should need government funding in the first place.

“So, I think we’re past — my view, we’re past the age, really, where the government — first of all, they don’t — why do we need to subsidize?” he asked. “Why can’t we have outlets like this?”

“They have to be private,” he added.

Maher has been one of Trump’s biggest critics over the years.

But thanks to Kid Rock, Maher and Trump had dinner together at the White House.

Trump recently wrote about it on Truth Social.

“I got a call from a very good guy, and friend of mine, Kid Rock, asking me whether or not it would be possible for me to meet, in the White House, with Bill Maher, a man who has been unjustifiably critical of anything, or anyone, TRUMP,” he wrote. “I really didn’t like the idea much, and don’t like it much now, but thought it would be interesting,” he continued. “The problem is, no matter how much he likes your Favorite President, ME, he will publicly proclaim what a terrible guy I am, etc., very much like the Democrats at my recent Address to the Joint Session of Congress, where I stated, correctly, that no matter what I said or did, they wouldn’t stand, they wouldn’t applaud, they wouldn’t smile or laugh and, certainly, they wouldn’t be in any way ‘nice.’”

Trump confessed that “I look forward to meeting with Bill Maher, Kid Rock and, I believe, even the Legendary Dana White will be present.”

“It might be fun or, it might not, but you will be the first to know!” he concluded.

Donald Trump is about to turn Bill Maher into one of his fans.
