Andy Reid faced one terrifying moment that police still haven’t solved

Aug 24, 2025

Andy Reid has become one of the most beloved figures in all of professional sports.

The Chiefs head coach has led Kansas City to three Super Bowl victories and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest coaches in NFL history.

But Andy Reid faced one terrifying moment that police still haven’t solved.

A bullet came within feet of one of the NFL’s most respected coaches

Back in May 2024, just months after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers to win Super Bowl LVIII, Andy Reid was working alone in his office at the team’s practice facility.

It was probably just another quiet evening for the 67-year-old coach, reviewing game film or planning for the upcoming season.

Then a bullet shattered the glass of his office window.

The Kansas City Star reported that Reid was sitting in his office when the bullet broke through the window and lodged in the wall between his bathroom and door.¹

Reid wasn’t struck and there were no injuries, but think about that for a second – one of the most respected coaches in professional sports came within feet of being shot while doing his job.

Two other bullets also struck the facility during the same incident, according to sources who spoke to The Kansas City Star.

Police investigation raises more questions than answers

Here’s where this story gets even more disturbing.

The Kansas City Police Department told the newspaper that no arrests were made in the case and "there is no indication this was a targeted incident at any person or organization."²

Really? Three bullets strike an NFL facility, one coming within feet of a Hall of Fame coach, and police are calling it random?

The case was investigated as "an aggravated assault," but more than a year later, apparently no one has been held accountable.³

The Chiefs organization declined to comment on the incident, which probably tells you everything you need to know about how seriously they’re taking the security threat.

The timing makes this even more suspicious

Look at when this happened – May 2024, just months after the Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl.

Reid had just led Kansas City to back-to-back championships, making him one of the most high-profile figures in American sports.

And someone just happened to fire multiple bullets at the facility where he works?

The Chiefs defeated San Francisco in overtime in Super Bowl LVIII, capping off another incredible season under Reid’s leadership.

Reid has spent his entire coaching career with just two organizations – the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles – building a 273-146-1 overall record with 301 wins including playoffs.⁴

He’s exactly the kind of successful, respected American that criminals seem to love targeting these days.

What this really tells us about crime in America

This incident perfectly captures what’s happening across the country right now.

A 67-year-old coach who’s dedicated his life to building something positive gets bullets fired at his workplace, and the people responsible just walk away.

No arrests. No justice. Just another unsolved case in a justice system that seems more interested in prosecuting political opponents than actual criminals.

Reid represents everything that makes America great – hard work, excellence, and building something lasting through dedication and skill.

The fact that someone can fire bullets at his office and face no consequences should terrify every law-abiding American.

While Reid continues to focus on preparing the Chiefs for another championship run, the criminals who threatened his life are still walking free.

That’s not the America that Chiefs fans – or any Americans – deserve to live in.
