More and more Americans are finding they can’t afford to buy homes because of the rising interest rates that the secretive Federal Reserve slapped in place to combat the runaway inflation that Kamala Harris’ socialist spending ignited.
Rather than own up to the mess she caused, Kamala Harris concocted a new gimmick that will only cause buying a new home to become even more unaffordable.
Kamala Harris’ new scheme is a taxpayer-funded $25,000 handout to home buyers to use for a down payment.
The downside of this plan was obvious to anyone.
Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary told Fox News that sellers would just raise the price of their homes by $25,000 to account for the government handout.
O’Leary delivered this simple lesson in economics during an appearance on Fox News where he joined the many Americans mocking the joint interview Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz sat for with CNN’s liberal anchor Dana Bash.
Bash asked no follow up questions to either Kamala Harris or Walz, and O’Leary told viewers this was a missed opportunity for Bash to inform the public about what their lives would look like under a President Kamala Harris.
“It was more happy talk about the convention slipping over, pictures of the kids — you know what I’m beginning to think? And, look, don’t shoot the messenger. Maybe she can’t do a real interview live with a reporter who asks follow-up questions. I’m not bashing Dana Bash. I think she asked questions, but there weren’t any follow-ups. Maybe she can’t do it!” O’Leary began.
For one thing – O’Leary explained – it would mean the cost of buying a house would automatically increase 25 percent.
“If everybody in the street has $25,000 extra and there’s one home for sale, the seller’s going to get the $25,000 by raising the price $25,000. I’ve been very vocal about this policy,” O’Leary stated.
O’Leary wants a shot at holding Kamala Harris’ feet to the fire
O’Leary threw out the idea of him being the next one to interview Kamala Harris so she could face real questions about her policies.
“I’m in the real estate business. That’s a really bad idea, an immensely bad idea, an incredibly bad idea. And I think somebody should talk about that with her. I’d like to interview her on that idea. I’ll do the interview. I want it live! I want to do that interview because I know real estate, I know state policy, I know regulation, please, let me do that interview,” O’Leary added.
No follow up questions were a feature and not a bug of the Bash interview.
Kamala Harris’ campaign handpicked Bash to conduct the interview, knowing it could trust Bash to avoid probing questions of Kamala Harris’ incoherent policy agenda.
The chances of O’Leary – or someone like him – landing an interview with Kamala Harris are between slim and none.
