Democrats always worried about Kamala Harris’ political instincts.
Now Kamala Harris made their worst fears come true.
And Kamala Harris took one side in a fight that instantly blew up in her face.
Kamala Harris sides with union bosses against the American people
The dock workers went on strike, demanding a 77% pay rise despite thousands of longshoremen making over $150,000 per year.
The strike threatened to close off supply chains and send prices skyrocketing.
Kamala Harris took the side of the union bosses who funnel hundreds of millions of dollars in campaign cash into the coffers of Big Labor’s pet Democrat politicians.
“This strike is about fairness. Foreign-owned shipping companies have made record profits and executive compensation has grown. The longshoremen, who play a vital role transporting essential goods across America, deserve a fair share of these record profits,” Kamala Harris declared.
Kamala Harris also pledged to pass the so-called “PRO Act” which would put 59,000,000 Americans who work as contractors out of a job as their clients would be forced to classify them as employees.
“As President, I will have workers’ backs and finally pass the PRO Act. And I will fight for an opportunity economy — where every person has the chance not just to get by but to get ahead,” Kamala Harris added.
Kamala Harris also attacked Donald Trump for opposing Big Labor’s anti-worker freedom agenda when he was President.
“As president, he blocked overtime benefits for millions of workers, he appointed union busters” to the National Labor Relations Board and ranting that “and just recently, he said striking workers should be fired.”
The danger of the dockworker strike
The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) union boss Harold Daggett made no bones about his goal.
Daggett declared his union held a dagger to the throat of the American economy and that his strike would put retailers and car dealers out of business unless port authorities caved in to his demands for a nearly 80 percent raise.
“I will cripple you, and you have no idea what that means. Nobody does,” Dagget ranted. “When my men hit the streets from Maine to Texas, every single port locked down. You know what’s going to happen? I’ll tell you. First week, be all over the news every night, boom, boom, second week. Guys who sell cars can’t sell cars, because the cars ain’t coming in off the ships. They get laid off. Third week, malls are closing down. They can’t get the goods from China. They can’t sell clothes. They can’t do this.”
A 77 percent raise for dock workers would mean more forced union dues that union bosses like Daggett can extract from their workers’ paychecks and dump into the accounts of Kamala Harris and her fellow Democrats.
A strike crippling the United States economy just before the election would also cripple the incumbent party’s political prospects.
But Kamala Harris is so indebted to the Democrat Party that she sided with Daggett, a union boss who earns $900,000 a year, lives in a six-million-dollar mansion, and drives a Bentley over the American people because Big Labor funds Democrat Party campaigns and provides the grassroots muscle for the Left’s get out the vote operations.
Only days after Daggett followed through on his threat and put thousands of dockworkers off the job, the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) – the alliance of container shipping lines, port operators, and other employers in the longshore industry – quickly struck a tentative deal after it raised its 50% wage increase offer to nearly 62%.
However, Daggett and his Democrat goon squad have only temporarily postponed the strike. In a massive favor to Kamala Harris, the tentative agreement kicked off a 100-day countdown, postponing the strike until January 15 – long after the election.
