Biden Commerce Secretary claims Trump made numbers her department released
The Biden-Harris administration released data that admitted that it cooked the jobs numbers for a year.
A low unemployment rate was constantly cited by President Joe Biden that the economy was fine.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed there were 818,000 fewer jobs than initially reported for the 12 months ending in March 2024.
That became the biggest revision downward for jobs since 2009 during the aftermath of the Great Recession.
A dramatic downward revision is another sign the health of the economy is nowhere near what Democrats or their media allies claim.
This was another bad headline about the economy in an election year for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo was asked about the jobs revision by ABC News host Kayna Whitworth at the Democratic National Convention.
Whitworth played a soundbite of former President Donald Trump slamming the Biden-Harris administration for lying about the jobs numbers at a campaign rally in North Carolina.
“I am curious as to your thoughts on today the Bureau of Labor saying that more than 800,000 fewer jobs were actually created than initially reported,” Whitworth asked.
Raimondo’s first instinct was to try to claim that Trump was lying.
“No. When I hear that, first of all, I don’t believe it because I’ve never heard Donald Trump say anything truthful,” Raimondo ranted.
“It is from the Bureau of Labor,” Whitworth noted.
“I’m not familiar with that,” Raimondo replied.
To claim that she had no idea what the bureau was is either a sign she’s a shameless liar or dangerously incompetent.
Neither is a good explanation for her.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics – housed in Biden’s Department of Labor – is the federal government’s agency for jobs data.

Raimondo had earlier claimed that a Trump Presidency would be bad for the economy.
And she told Axios the thing that irks her most about the Republican Party is that “just peddle bulls**t.”
Gina Raimondo needs to take a long look in the mirror.

Trump demolished the Biden-Harris administration for the revised jobs numbers at a North Carolina rally.
“It’s a total lie. Total lie,” Trump said. “There’s never been any revision like this. They wanted it to come out after the election, but somehow it got leaked.”
He said that Biden was pumping up the jobs numbers to make the economy look better than it is.
“The Harris Biden administration has been caught fraudulently manipulating job statistics to hide the true extent of the economic ruin that they’ve inflicted on America,” Trump stated.
Democrats have been trying to paint a rosy picture of the economy for years.
The reality is that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have run it into the ground.
