First Lady Jill Biden reportedly wanted Joe Biden to fight to the end to remain the Democratic Party nominee for President.
But the coup plotters succeeded.

Joe Biden got to deliver the eulogy at his own political funeral.
Biden delivered the keynote address on the first night of the Democratic National Convention.
The speech slipped to 11:26 PM because Democrats knew they had to bite the bullet and give Biden a speaking slot at the convention to get him to agree to drop out of the race, but they also want as many voters as possible to forget he’s still the President so to minimize any association in their minds between the unpopular Biden and Kamala Harris.

And as Joe Biden took the stage, cameras caught both he and Jill Biden crying as the finality of it all set in for them.

Biden’s speech hit tired themes
In his speech Biden told the usual litany of lies.
Biden lied about Trump calling neo-Nazis in Charlottesville “very fine people.”
And Biden continued to tell his lie about how Donald Trump is a threat to democracy.
“Folks, I’ve got five months left in my Presidency,” Biden told the crowd.
Biden tried to put a good face despite the fact that his own party dumped him in a coup.Â
“I’ve got a lot to do. I intend to get it done. It’s been the honor of my lifetime to serve as your President,” Biden added.
Biden claimed he ended his campaign under duress out of a sense of patriotism.
“I love the job, but I love my country more,” Biden added.
“I love my country more,” Biden doubled down.
Biden tried to make it seem like he was happy to be shoved off the stage in humiliating fashion in the middle of the night.
“And all this talk about how I’m angry at all those people who said I should step down — it’s not true,” Biden continued.
But Biden said he had to get out of the way because he falsely claimed Donald Trump winning meant the end of democracy in America.
“I love my country more and we need to preserve our democracy,” Biden declared.Â
“In 2024, we need you to vote. We need you to keep the Senate, to win back the House of Representatives and above all, we need you to beat Donald Trump! And elect Kamala and Tim, President and Vice President of the United States of America!” Biden concluded.
