The first night of the Democratic Party’s convention was supposed to be all about Joe Biden.
But it ended up being something else altogether.
And a CNN host laughed at Joe Biden over this final humiliation.
Democrats knew they had to get Biden addressing the convention out of the way.
That’s why organizers scheduled the convention for the opening night.
The first night of a convention is usually the worst night to speak as the third and fourth nights feature the nominee and the running mate nominee and draw a bigger audience.
There was a method to the madness as Democrats wanted as few reminders as possible that Joe Biden is the President and Kamala Harris is his Vice President.
It was bad enough that Democrats stuck Biden on opening night.
But then his speech got bumped out of primetime because the speaking program ran long.
Biden didn’t begin speaking until 11:26 PM when most people on the East Coast had gone to bed.
Convention organizers claimed Biden’s speech fell out of the coveted 10 PM hour – when the broadcast networks televise the proceedings – because the crowd at the United Center kept bursting into sustained standing ovations for speaker after speaker.
“Because of the raucous applause interrupting speaker after speaker, we ultimately skipped elements of our program to ensure we could get to President Biden as quickly as possible so that he could speak directly to the American people,” a statement from the organizers read.
“We are proud of the electric atmosphere in our convention hall and proud that our convention is showcasing the broad and diverse coalition behind the Harris-Walz ticket throughout the week on and off the stage,” the statement continued.

CNN laughs at the explanation for why Joe Biden’s speech got bumped
Not even the pro-Kamala hosts at CNN would accept that spin at face value.
“By the way, I see a report that convention officials are saying that the reason it went long is because of all the ‘raucous applause,’” Anderson Cooper began laughing as he reported this statement about why Biden’s speech began so late.
The rest of Cooper’s panel also began chuckling at the idea of rapturous applause delaying Biden’s speech.
“Uh, that’s the sort of thing, you build into this — we have had conventions before, you sort of know –”
“That’s amazing spin,” panelist Audie Cornish stated.
Democrats couldn’t be clearer about their true feelings towards Joe Biden.
Despite all the claims that Biden belongs on Mount Rushmore, actions speak louder than words.
And Democrats clearly view Joe Biden as a political liability who the less he’s seen and heard from the better.
