King Charles III is flexing his royal muscle.
This is a side of Charles that no one expected to see.
And King Charles issued one order about a Meghan Markle rival that shook the Royal Family.
King Charles becomes very protective of Princess Kate
It’s no secret that Meghan Markle and her sister-in-law, Princess Kate Middleton, don’t get along at all.
But King Charles III won’t tolerate any royal dissent inside the family as long as Kate is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Kate had drawn criticism from inside and outside of Buckingham Palace by some who were tempted to side with Markle in the feud.
But Christopher Andersen, author of “The King,” told Fox News that Charles stepped in to make it clear that any criticism of Kate while she dealt with her illness was crossing a bright red line.
“There are those inside and outside the palace who have criticized Kate over the years [before her diagnosis] for supposedly not shouldering her share of the royal burden, for not going to as many ribbon cuttings, hospital openings and plaque unveilings as the late Queen Elizabeth II, the king or Princess Anne, for instance,” Andersen told Fox News.
“It has always been Kate’s choice to prioritize her children’s well-being over royal duties,” Andersen added.
“In the past, Charles has remained silent about this and allowed the sniping from the sidelines to continue. But no more. Now the king brooks no criticism of Kate, period.”
King Charles lays down the law
Andersen explained that Royal Family members know they risk a tongue-lashing the likes of which they’ve never seen if they dare utter a cross word about Kate in public or how long she’s taking to resume her royal duties.
“Other royal family members and courtiers alike know that they risk being read the Riot Act by the king if they dare utter a negative syllable about Kate,” Andersen continued. “Charles has also made it clear that everyone should stand down in terms of when and how she returns to a full public schedule.”
Andersen said Charles has always been fond of Kate.
But Kate’s cancer diagnosis moved him in unexpected ways.
“Charles was moved to tears by Kate’s stunning video announcement that she has cancer,” Andersen stated.
Andersen added that Charles is extra protective due to the fact that – unlike Meghan Markle – Kate has remained loyal to the Royal Family, and King Charles wants to be as protective of her as possible since Kate could be the mother of a future king.
“The king sees her as, in a word, brave. He also knows better than anyone that the future of the monarchy is to a considerable extent in her hands. She is not only the wife of a future king but the mother of a future monarch. Kate has also shown herself to be unswervingly loyal to the royal family and above reproach – things he can’t always say about other Windsors,” Andersen concluded.
Meghan Markle quitting the Royal Family continues to set off a ripple effect in the Royal Household.
King Charles clearly feels affection for Kate Middleton and deeply cares about her recovery from cancer.
But the Royal Family is an institution.
And one Duchess already quit the Royal Family.
The last thing King Charles needs is to alienate another Duchess and put the future of the House of Windsor in doubt.
