Wild Video Shows Melee Erupt After a Pittsburgh Youth Football Coach Tackled Opposing Staff as Children Watched

A Steel City Youth Football League coach tackled a man to the ground and a woman went to the ground as chaos erupted with third graders standing on the field.

The league’s board just suspended seven coaches across both teams and may hand down lifetime bans.

Now the coach who appeared to start the caught-on-camera donnybrook is blaming the referees for something that happened before the brawl.

This Was Not the First Time the Carlynton Coach Reportedly Put His Hands on Someone

The game was a Division II matchup between the Carlynton Little Cougars and Keystone Oaks – third and fourth graders, eight and nine-year-old kids – in the Steel City Youth Football League.

It was the fourth quarter and Carlynton was down 7-0 with three minutes left when a 24-year-old Carlynton coach evidently lost control entirely.

Video captured what happened next: punches, shoves, and grown men tackling each other on a field where children were standing.

The coach grabbed the opposing coach around the legs and flipped him to the ground.

He allegedly knocked down a woman who tried to intervene, although that appears more incidental than intentional after the mama bear decided to wade into territory where only papa bears ought to tread if it’s absolutely necessary.

Sports aren’t that serious, they certainly shouldn’t be.  

But there’s a reason the ruling elites like everyone focused on bread and circuses.

If parents are fighting each other over something as inconsequential as a peewee football game, then they aren’t fighting the elites who are pillaging America and taking advantage of our nation’s sons and daughters of every age.

If you understand that then you know why monopoly sports leagues tend to get special exemptions from anti-trust law.

Anyway, kids stood frozen on the field as parents in the bleachers screamed for someone to get the children away.

One parent, Ryan Crux, captured the entire brawl on his phone.

He told reporters afterward: "Never thought I would have to protect my son from youth football coaches but here we are."

He also noted the timing: "It's the 4th quarter, we're down 7-0 with 3:00 min left with the ball and a chance to tie the game, then this happens."

The Carlynton coaches – not Keystone Oaks, not the refs, not the opposing players – were 100 percent responsible for what followed.

They forfeited the game the moment the first punch landed.

The instigating coach explained afterward that several of his players had come to him in tears after allegedly being called racial slurs by opposing players.

He said he reported the situation to referees before the confrontation, that they didn't act, and that he lost his temper.

That explanation does not account for tackling a man, knocking down a woman, or brawling in front of the children he was supposed to be coaching.

This is the move now – reach for the grievance first and hope the accountability disappears behind it.

It also does not account for his history.

Reports surfaced that the same coach was caught in a video from the previous season picking up one of his players by the face mask.

At least one parent removed their child from the Carlynton program after witnessing multiple incidents involving the coach before Monday's brawl.

What the Seven Suspended Coaches Are Now Facing From the League

Two coaches were ejected from the game immediately as it happened.

Carlynton and Keystone Oaks together suspended five additional coaches – a number that signals both organizations understood exactly how bad the footage looked.

The Steel City Youth Football League – founded just one year ago in 2025, already serving nine Western Pennsylvania programs – announced it is investigating and that both coaches involved will have the opportunity to present their cases.

The league warned that sanctions could escalate to lifetime bans depending on what the referee reports and video review show.

No criminal charges have been filed as of publication, though Pennsylvania law classifies assault against sports officials as a first-degree misdemeanor.

What the video shows does not require a prosecution to explain: a youth football coach tackled a man to the ground and shoved a woman while children watched.

He coached his players into a forfeit.

He coached them into a loss they cannot get back.

He coached them into a moment no third grader should have to see at a Saturday youth football game.

Youth football is supposed to be where fathers and volunteers teach young boys discipline, toughness, and respect for the game.

The Steel City Youth Football League just showed America what happens when the adults in charge of that job forget what their job actually is.

Lifetime bans should follow. Anything short of that tells every coach in Western Pennsylvania that you can tackle a man, knock down a woman, and brawl your way out of accountability as long as you bring a good enough excuse.
