Canada Just Debuted a 17-Character Government Acronym and Elon Musk Had Three Words

A Canadian member of parliament stood at the microphone this week and said MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+ out loud like it was a word.

She wasn't reading from a parody script – that was official government language delivered in the Canadian parliament.

And what she said next will tell you everything you need to know about where woke governance ends up.

Leah Gazan, a far-left member of Canada's New Democratic Party, took the floor of parliament on April 8 to attack Prime Minister Mark Carney's 2026 budget.

Her complaint: Carney cut $7 billion from Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations while committing $13 billion to military spending.

Her weapon: MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+.

That is not a keyboard malfunction.

That is an official government acronym Gazan deployed – fluently, naturally, as if it were a perfectly normal thing to say out loud.

It stands for: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual+ people.

Read that again.

Gazan declared Canada's government had provided "zero dollars to deal with the ongoing genocide of MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+."

What Does MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA Mean and Why Is Canada Using It

This acronym didn't fall from the sky.

Canada's federal government adopted the 2SLGBTQQIA+ portion back in 2021 – Trudeau took a beating on social media when he first used it – as the official terminology from a federally funded National Inquiry report.

The "MMIWG" prefix, meaning Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, got welded onto the front to create the full monstrosity Gazan delivered this week.

The plus sign at the end indicates there is more.

There is always more.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders saw the clip and said exactly what every normal American was thinking: "I think they're just adding letters to mess with us at this point."

Elon Musk reposted the video to his hundreds of millions of followers and wrote: "Seriously would have been an implausible comedy routine even from circa 2010."

His follow-up post was three words: "Canada is cooked."

He's right.

The tragedy here is that missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada is a real crisis that deserves serious attention.

Real women. Real violence. Real families destroyed.

Instead, Canadian bureaucrats folded a violent crime epidemic into a gender identity acronym – turning murdered women into a subset of a woke alphabet – and called it policy.

Matt Walsh watched the clip and said what everyone was thinking: fusing an acronym for missing and murdered women with a sexual identity checklist means you've officially declared that being murdered is a queer identity.

That's not advocacy. That's performance.

Canada has spent years treating woke language as a substitute for actual governance.

While violent crime against Indigenous women continued, the government held inquiries, issued reports, invented acronyms, and declared genocide.

The acronym got longer. The crisis stayed.

And now Leah Gazan stands in parliament and rolls off MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+ like she's reading a grocery list – because in Canadian politics, the ability to say the acronym has become the point.

Governing is secondary.

Here's what this really comes down to: Canada is not a failed state.

It's something worse – a serious country that chose to stop being serious, one committee report and one extra letter at a time, while actual women stayed missing.

The women will still be missing.

The acronym will keep growing.

And Elon Musk will keep being right.
