Lindsey Graham spent years scheming to get America into a war with Iran.
Now thirteen US troops are dead – and Graham spent the weekend riding Space Mountain.
While American families prepared to say goodbye to their sons and daughters, the senator who made this war happen was photographed blowing bubbles in the Magic Kingdom.
Graham Manipulated Trump Into This War From the Golf Course Up
This didn't happen by accident.
Graham began lobbying Trump for military action against Iran the week after Trump won the 2024 election – starting with a round of golf at Mar-a-Lago.
He made multiple secret trips to Israel, meeting privately with Mossad intelligence officials. "They'll tell me things our own government won't tell me," he bragged to The Wall Street Journal.
He coached Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on exactly how to lobby Trump directly.
Netanyahu then presented Trump with intelligence that – according to Graham – "persuaded" the president to launch Operation Epic Fury on February 28.
Graham even admitted he played a word-association game with Trump to push him over the edge.
The war he spent three decades pushing for finally arrived. And the moment it did, Graham was on Fox News demanding more – calling for U.S. Marines to seize Kharg Island, Iran's main oil hub. "We did Iwo Jima, we can do this," he said on Fox News Sunday.
Megyn Kelly Said What a Lot of Americans Were Thinking
Megyn Kelly didn't let that one slide.
"6,821 U.S. service personnel died in the battle for Iwo Jima, 19,217 were wounded," she said on The Megyn Kelly Show. "How dare he speak about it so cavalierly? He doesn't have any kids. He's not sending a young son or daughter into battle."
Then came the Disney photos.
Graham – childless, unmarried at 70 – was photographed at Chef Mickey's restaurant at Disney's Contemporary Resort, waiting in a breakfast buffet line, riding Space Mountain, and strolling through the Magic Kingdom clutching a Little Mermaid bubble wand. Photos published by TMZ showed the full three-day weekend in detail.
While American troops were deploying to a war Graham lobbied years to start, he was at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Kelly went after him directly. "What is Lindsey Graham doing to support those troops and the families who are preparing to put their lives on the line? He's at Disney World," she said on her SiriusXM show. "He goes to Disney World while they deploy to Iran, and he's blowing bubbles. So heartless, so tone deaf."
Kelly didn't stop there. "This guy should be nowhere near President Trump," she said.
The Backlash Inside the Republican Party
Kelly isn't alone.
Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina – Graham's own state – has called Graham out by name as part of the "Washington war machine" and publicly demanded he be removed from the Situation Room.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna wrote that Graham was treating U.S. troops like "expendable cattle."
Even Meghan McCain – daughter of Graham's closest Senate ally, the late John McCain – has pleaded with the Trump administration to stop sending Graham out as a spokesperson for the war.
A senior White House aide privately called Graham an "annoying crazy uncle" who kept showing up at Mar-a-Lago pushing for escalation.
***STRONG LANGUAGE***
Graham Has Been Doing This His Whole Career
This isn't the first time Graham has pushed America into a costly fight.
He backed the 2003 Iraq War – the one that destabilized the entire Middle East and gave rise to ISIS.
He supported military intervention in Libya. In Syria.
Now he chairs the Senate Budget Committee and is pushing a supplemental military funding package topping $200 billion to keep the Iran war running.
The pattern is two decades old: Graham finds a war he wants, lobbies whoever is in the White House, and watches from a comfortable distance while other people's children fight it.
Kelly put the whole thing plainly. Graham "got us into the Iranian war," she said. "He has no compassion for human life. All he wants to see is bombs go off."
Thirteen American service members are dead. More than 200 have been wounded. Oil topped $100 a barrel after Iran shut down the Strait of Hormuz – the chokepoint carrying 20 percent of the world's oil supply – hitting every American at the pump.
