Whoopi Goldberg instantly regretted inviting this guest on “The View”

Members of the media are still trying to pick up the pieces in the wake of the 2024 election.

The left is being forced to confront some harsh truths.

Whoopi Goldberg instantly regretted inviting this guest on The View.

Hunter Biden pardon forces Democrats to confront tough truths

For four years, Democrats comforted themselves with the idea that they were the noble and virtuous defenders of democracy, protecting America from the corrupt authoritarian in Donald Trump, who just sought power to enrich himself and his family.

That all got flushed down the toilet when Joe Biden pardoned Hunter Biden for any crime he may have committed dating back to 2014.

The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne tha God went on The View and criticized Biden for lying to the public when he spent months claiming he wasn’t going to pardon his son.

“He didn’t believe that, but he didn’t have to volunteer that lie to begin with,” Charlamagne stated.

Whoopi Goldberg leapt in to defend Biden, claiming Biden didn’t lie, but that he changed his mind at the last moment and issued the pardon in an act of fatherly compassion.

“Only because you don’t know that it was a lie. We don’t know why he changed,” Goldberg responded.

Charlamagne looked at Goldberg like she had two heads.

“You really think he just changed his mind over Thanksgiving weekend?” Charlamagne asked in disbelief.

Goldberg then argued that Biden got tired of Democrats being held to one standard while Trump could get away with promising to pardon the January 6 defendants.

“No, I’m going to tell you what I think. I think he changed his mind because he got sick of watching everybody else get over. And this is just my feeling because at some point you get to the place where you just go, so I’m just going to follow the straight and narrow always because that’s what’s expected of Democrats,” Goldberg declared.

No one to blame but themselves

Charlamagne said Democrats had no one to blame but themselves for Americans holding them to a higher standard.

Joe Biden was the one who said he was running for President to heal the soul of the nation and defend the rule of law.

“But that’s their fault. They’re the ones that go out there and they stand on this moral high ground. They don’t have to do that,” Charlamagne shot back.

Goldberg then pressed Charlamagne on what he thought the standard was that Democrats should abide by.

Charlamagne answered that it was the standard that Biden claimed to want to uphold when he initially ruled out pardoning his son.

“The moral high ground is, uh, nobody’s above the law. I respect what the jurors is saying. Um, he didn’t, he don’t have to do that,” Charlamagne stated.

This led to Charlamagne wondering why Goldberg and other members of the media circled the wagons around Biden on this front.

“Why can’t you say when Democrats are wrong? And why can’t Republicans say when Republicans are wrong?” Charlamagne asked.

The answer to that question is muscle memory.

Goldberg and other journalists are partisan Democrats so they can’t help themselves but to mindlessly defend their own team.
