Greg Gutfeld said Donald Trump had one trick up his sleeve that will drive the Left crazy

The Democrat Party is bracing itself for Donald Trump’s second term in office.

But the Left still may not be ready for what’s coming.

And Greg Gutfeld said Donald Trump had one trick up his sleeve that will drive the Left crazy.

Greg Gutfeld reveals what he likes most about Donald Trump

Donald Trump held one of his signature news conferences where he fielded questions from reporters about the economy, his legislative agenda, immigration, Joe Biden trying to sabotage the transition and January 6.

But perhaps no subject made more news than when Trump reiterated his desire to retake control of the Panama Canal and purchase Greenland from Denmark.

After the press conference, Greg Gutfeld said the performance reminded him of why Trump is so successful as a politician.

Gutfeld explained that Trump has the ability to frame proposals that the left-wing media tries to treat as crazy as simple common sense that appeals to the average voter.

“What I love about this whole situation is that Trump can just bring something up and say, well, let’s just see what happens. Can we buy this? How much does that cost? And people have come but then you go, wait a minute, it’s actually happening,” Gutfeld stated.

In his press conference, Trump explained that the United States acquiring Greenland and retaking control of the Panama Canal were vital to American interests.

Trump wouldn’t answer any questions about military strategy, but did say the U.S. needed the Panama Canal and Greenland.

“No, I can’t assure you on either of those two, but I can say this: We need them for economic security,” Trump stated.

Resource gains from Greenland purchase would be a boon to American manufacturing

Greenland is home to a key U.S. military base.

There are also oil and natural gas reserves off its coast.

And Greenland is also home to deposits of rare minerals such as scandium, neodymium and yttrium.

The rare earth minerals Greenland possesses are critical to manufacturing energy and military technology.

As for the Panama Canal, it was the United States property until Jimmy Carter handed it over in 1977.

Trump said this was a historical blunder as the United States spent – adjusted for inflation – $1 trillion to build the canal and lost 38,000 people during its construction.

It’s American property and Trump said Carter handing over the canal to Panama cost him the 1980 Presidential Election.

The canal is a key shipping route that connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Trump explained that Panama is now charging the United States higher shipping rates and essentially turning control of the canal over to Communist China.

“The Panama Canal is vital to our country. It’s being operated by China. China! And we gave the Panama Canal to Panama, not to China. It was a gift. They abused that gift. It should have never been made,” Trump declared.

Donald Trump wants to put America First.

And to Trump, that means the largest U.S. land acquisition since the Louisiana Purchase.
