The Supreme Court is the one institution in America that Democrats don’t control.
Liberals aim to change that.
And now the Supreme Court is under attack from one sick Kamala Harris take over.
Democrat Senator announces plan to destroy the Supreme Court’s conservative majority
Democrats raged over the last two years as the Supreme Court handed down decisions that overturned Roe v. Wade, expanded the scope of Second Amendment rights, ended affirmative action in college admissions, and gutted the lawfare against Donald Trump.
A normal political party would figure out how to win enough elections to eventually confirm enough nominees to tilt the Court in their favor.
The current conservative Supreme Court majority is the end result of 50 years of organizing and voting in what’s known as the conservative legal project.
Democrats have no intention of waiting decades to win enough elections to flip the majority to the left.
Instead, Democrats are looking to seize power in one fell swoop.
Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) is out with a new bill that will pack the Supreme Court with six new justices, weaken the ability of the Court to overturn laws, and create new lower courts that a President Kamala Harris could stack with liberal activists.
“It’s not an atomic secret that the process for selecting justices is politicized,” Wyden told the Washington Post. “You’ve got this thoroughly politicized process resulting in a Supreme Court that now frequently issues sweeping rulings to overturn laws and upend precedents. We are proposing a way to restore some balance between the three branches of government.”
The details of the Supreme Court takeover
Kamala Harris already endorsed a Court Packing scheme.
Wyden’s bill puts meat on the bones by allowing a potential Kamala Harris to get a head start on filling the vacancies on an expanded Supreme Court.
“The bill’s most significant measure would increase the number of justices from nine to 15 over the course of 12 years. The staggered format over two or three administrations is aimed at diminishing the chance that one political party would pack the courts with its nominees,” the Washington Post reported.
Even if Kamala Harris only got to appoint two new justices right off the bat, it would allow her to create a liberal veto on the Court.
That’s because, as the Post reports, “Wyden’s bill would also require a ruling by two-thirds of the high court and the circuit courts of appeals, rather than a simple majority, to overturn a law passed by Congress. Wyden said the current court has been too quick to discard precedent and curtail rights by narrow majorities.”
A 6-5 conservative majority would be unable to overturn any unconstitutional power grabs imposed by a would-be President Kamala Harris.
The bill also creates a backdoor for Kamala Harris to confirm her nominees even if Republicans control the Senate by eliminating the ability of the majority to push back against a vote on a Supreme Court nominee they feel is too radical.
“The legislation would also require Supreme Court nominees to be automatically scheduled for a vote in the Senate if their nominations have lingered in committee for more than 180 days,” the Post reports.
A 52 or 51 seat Republican majority would still confirm Kamala Harris judges if RINO Senators like Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME) join with Democrats to vote in favor of Kamala Harris’ radical Supreme Court nominees.
