Pat McAfee called out Prince Harry for this horrible insult

Jul 3, 2024

Prince Harry continues to be a public villain.

No one wants anything to do with him.

And now Pat McAfee has called out Prince Harry for this horrible insult.

Pat McAfee rips ESPN for giving Harry the Pat Tillman Award

Former Arizona Cardinals defensive back Pat Tillman gave up fame and fortune to become an Army Ranger after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Tillman died in Afghanistan in 2004 in a friendly fire incident.

ESPN names an award after Tillman that they present at their annual ESPY Awards show which is “given to a person with a strong connection to sports who has served others in a way that echoes the legacy of the former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger, Pat Tillman.”

This didn’t sit well with host Pat McAfee of the Pat McAfee Show

The former Colts kicker is one the most popular sports talk show hosts in America, and ESPN paid McAfee $85 million to serve as one of the new faces of the network.

McAfee’s so popular because he doesn’t pull any punches and is more than willing to blast ESPN when so deserved.

And that proved to be the case as McAfee spoke for many in ripping the decision to give an award named after an American hero to someone whose claim to fame is quitting the British Royal Family.

“A lot of conversation about Pat Tillman’s name. American hero…Now there’s an award named after him, as there should be in the sports world because that is somebody who is the definition of selfless. It’s going to Prince Harry. Who I don’t even think is a prince anymore. See, why does the ESPYs do this sh*t?” McAfee declared.

McAfee explained that the point of this stunt is “obviously trying to piss people off… Come on!”

“When you do something like this, you know the immediate reaction from humans and from sports fans and from people with common sense and brains, is gonna be like ‘Hey, don’t be putting our f’n guy with that guy,’” McAfee added.

The ESPYs history of controversy

Getting Harry and Meghan to the ESPYs – which will be held July 11 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles – is an attempt by ESPN to drum up ratings by having two controversial figures in attendance.

Harry and Meghan are two of the more universally reviled figures in pop culture after they quit the Royal Family after making baseless allegations of racism.

But this isn’t the first time the ESPYs courted controversy.

In 2015, ESPN helped kickoff the transgender craze in society by absurdly honoring former Olympic Champion Bruce Jenner with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.

Jenner used his ten-minute speech to demand the world of sports make transgenderism one of its main issues.

“My plea for you tonight is … join me in making this one of your issues as well,” Jenner declared.

Honoring Prince Harry at the ESPYs – while controversial – was nowhere near as damaging as the Jenner award because critics contend there is a through line from the Jenner award to the current push by the Left to have biological men play girls’ sports.
