One bombshell lawsuit may expose the Democrats’ biggest election scam

Oct 18, 2024

The Democrat Party has one major advantage over Republicans since Donald Trump came on the scene.

But everything may not be on the level.

And one bombshell lawsuit may expose the Democrats’ biggest election scam.

ActBlue under scrutiny

Since the Left founded the online fundraising platform ActBlue in 2004, Democrat candidates raked in $13.7 billion.

ActBlue allowed Democrats to pour a gusher of low-dollar donations raised online into Democrat campaigns.

This fundraising disparity helped Democrats win elections in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2023.

Republicans smelled a rat.

Now they may have the proof they need.

Mark Block, a top aide to the late Herman Cain, filed a suit against ActBlue after finding nearly $900 in low dollar campaign donations – each one was under the $200 threshold which would require campaigns to report who they are from, and the amount given – made in his name to ActBlue.

Mark Block, former chief of staff to Republican 2012 presidential candidate Herman Cain, alleges that a total of $884.38 given in his name and without his knowledge between May and October was designed to circumvent federal election law and may be part of a larger scam involving tens of thousands of unwitting donors,” the New York Post wrote.

Block argued that ActBlue may be enabling a scam that allows Democrats to circumvent individual donation limits using unwitting straw donors.

“While fraudulent donations of such small amounts may seem inefficacious, this pattern is able to exploit a loophole for federal reporting requirements,” Block’s lawsuit reads. “The ActBlue Donations appear to be part of a larger pattern of suspicious activity.”

Suspicious activity

This spring, Block discovered a series of 62 small dollar donations to various left-wing causes and campaigns, including some to Kamala Harris.

“Block discovered that, beginning in May 2024, his identity was “fraudulently used” to make over 385 donations worth over $884 to 62 campaigns and political organizations, the suit said. Thirty-five of the donations were to Harris’ Victory Fund,” Just the News reported.

Just the News also reported there were, “Emails that went to Block’s old Cain Campaign address with receipts from ActBlue, including one in June for $7.50 for the  Equality PAC, the political arm of the liberal-leaning Congressional LGBTQ Equality Caucus.”

Congressional Republicans are also getting into the act.

House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-WI) announced an investigation into ActBlue and asked the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to change its rules to protect Americans from fraudulent fundraising scams.

“Following widespread allegations of fraudulent donations being reported to the FEC by ActBlue, one of the largest fundraising platforms in the country, this emergency rule-making is necessary to reassure the American people that ActBlue is taking the necessary steps to protect its donors,” Steil wrote.

Steil urged the FEC to mandate that campaigns collect the Card Verification Value (CVV) of credit cards, so as not to promote identity theft.

“Illegal and malicious conduct have no place in our elections. Ensuring all parties are complying with federal election law as we approach a presidential election is of utmost importance,” Steil added.
