Nancy Pelosi absurdly claims Democrats had an open primary
Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) led the coup to force Joe Biden out of the race.
But if Pelosi had her way, she also would have dumped Kamala Harris as well, which is why she endorsed an open primary once Joe Biden ended his campaign on July 21.
That’s because Pelosi was among the many top Democrats – Barack Obama included – who considered Kamala Harris an unlikeable, unpopular, and incompetent candidate with no chance of winning the election.
After Biden endorsed Kamala Harris, Democrat Party bosses united around Kamala Harris and installed her as the nominee, despite the fact that not one single person ever voted for Kamala Harris.
Semafor’s Kadia Goba asked Pelosi about her change of heart with regard to Kamala Harris.
“You had reportedly said you wanted a sort of an open primary when Joe Biden stepped down. Did you change your mind because you saw all the excitement around Kamala Harris?” Goba asked.
Pelosi then falsely claimed Democrats ran a primary and that no one challenged Kamala Harris.
“No, I didn’t change my mind. We had an open primary and she won it. Nobody else got in the race because she was politically astute and that was the thought,” Pelosi stated.
This is laughably untrue.
A primary is when voters cast ballots to pick a winner.
Democrats had a primary.
14,000,000 Democrats chose Joe Biden.
Pelosi and Obama overturned those results and instead crowned Kamala Harris in a rigged insider deal.
Party elites handpick Kamala Harris
The former Speaker of the House admitted as much in her next answer where she told Goba that party insiders didn’t contest the race once Biden endorsed Kamala Harris.
“So he’s very consequential, highly respected and was to be our nominee and then he, because he knows the job of vice president, appointed her vice president three and a half years ago and because he knows the job of president, endorsed her for president. And so yes, people could have jumped in. There were some people who were sort of preparing but she just took off with it and actually it was a blessing because there wasn’t that much time between then and the election and it sort of saved time,” Pelosi added.
“It wasn’t that we didn’t have an open president. It’s just that nobody got in because she had a running start,” Pelosi concluded.
Democrats like to fancy themselves the party of democracy.
But democracy is when Americans vote and make their will known.
Democrat primary voters did that by choosing Joe Biden.
Nancy Pelosi and her allies have another view of democracy.
It’s more along the lines of heads I win and tails you lose, where democracy only functions if the Democrat Party wins elections.
