Melania Trump Just Unloaded on Jimmy Kimmel After What He Said About Her on ABC

Apr 28, 2026

A gunman tried to kill President Trump at the White House Correspondents' Dinner Saturday night.

Two days earlier, Jimmy Kimmel told his ABC audience that Melania Trump had the glow of an "expectant widow."

Now the First Lady has a message for Kimmel – and for the network that handed him the microphone.

What Kimmel Said About Melania Trump Before the White House Correspondents Dinner Shooting

Kimmel hosted a parody of the Correspondents' Dinner on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night.

He looked into the camera and delivered this: "Our First Lady, Melania, is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow."

That's not a roast joke.

That's a late-night host on a major broadcast network publicly fantasizing about the President's death – and ABC aired every second of it.

Then on Saturday night, 31-year-old Cole Allen of Torrance, California rushed a Secret Service checkpoint at the Washington Hilton, opened fire, and Trump and Melania were rushed from the room by agents.

Kimmel's "joke" suddenly didn't feel like comedy anymore.

Melania Trump Calls Kimmel Hateful and Violent Rhetoric a Threat to America

The First Lady released a statement Sunday morning, and she went straight at Kimmel's throat.

"Kimmel's hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country."

"His monologue about my family isn't comedy – his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America."

She called him a coward – directly, by name – and said he "hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him."

Then she turned her fire on the executives writing Kimmel's paychecks: "How many times will ABC's leadership enable Kimmel's atrocious behavior at the expense of our community?"

ABC has not responded.

Kimmel's representatives have not responded.

The silence is its own answer.

Why ABC Has Protected Jimmy Kimmel Every Time He Goes Too Far

This isn't a one-time slip from a comedian who went too far.

ABC has established a clear pattern: Kimmel crosses a line, gets suspended briefly, then gets rewarded.

Last September, ABC pulled him off the air after on-air remarks about the shooting death of Charlie Kirk.

When he came back on September 23, Kimmel cried on camera and said it was never his intention to make light of the murder of a young man.

ABC's response was to give him a contract extension and a Peabody Award.

He got the message.

So Thursday night, he stood at a fake podium in a fake tuxedo and told a national audience that the First Lady looked like she was waiting for her husband to die – because he knew ABC wouldn't do a thing about it.

Jimmy Kimmel Called Melania an Expectant Widow Two Days Before the WHCD Shooting

The shooter at the Correspondents' Dinner wasn't random.

Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed investigators believe Cole Allen was specifically targeting members of the Trump administration.

He showed up armed with multiple weapons at an event where the President of the United States was seated in that ballroom.

And two days before that, the most-watched late-night host on ABC told his audience that Melania had a widow's glow.

The left will say Kimmel couldn't have known what was coming Saturday night.

That's true.

But that's also exactly the point Melania is making – this kind of rhetoric doesn't need a shooter to be dangerous.

It feeds the fever that produces shooters.

Disney Owns ABC and Fires People for Far Less Than This

Walt Disney Company owns ABC.

Disney – the corporation that has fired employees over single social media posts and scrubbed creators from projects for far less – has watched its late-night host suggest the President might die soon, and done nothing publicly.

If any host on any conservative network had said something remotely similar about Michelle Obama, he'd have been off the air before the monologue ended.

Melania isn't asking for special treatment.

She's asking for the same standard.

And she's asking it publicly, with her name attached, while her husband is still being briefed on the security failure that nearly turned Kimmel's punchline into a headline.

ABC has a choice to make – and their silence is already making it.
