Meghan Markle created one massive headache for the British royal family

Meghan Markle has made it clear she’s only looking out for herself.

Her latest bad decision is sending shockwaves.

And Meghan Markle created one massive headache for the British royal family.

The British royal family frets over Meghan Markle creating a brand

Former D-list actress Meghan Markle launched a new career as a lifestyle influencer.

She has a poorly reviewed reality show on Netflix called With Love, Meghan, where she cooks and gardens with a rotating cast of minor celebrities.

The Duchess of Sussex finally launched her As Ever brand after multiple setbacks.

As Ever’s overpriced cooking products like jam, honey, and tea have sold out online.

Meghan uses the “Duchess of Sussex” moniker on the brand’s website.

The Sun’s former royal editor, Duncan Larcombe, claimed that Meghan’s brand is something that the British royal family has been fretting about from the start.

“What this represents is Meghan effectively cashing in on her fame . . . even using her children to try and boost her presence online and sell units of her products,” Larcombe explained. “This is exactly what the royals feared would happen. [But] it’ll take a few weeks before we really know whether she hit the jackpot.”

Meghan and Prince Harry claimed that all they wanted was privacy when they moved to the United States.

But she’s been using their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in social media posts to promote As Ever.

Meghan monetizes her connection to the British royal family

Harry and Meghan fled the United Kingdom for Southern California and stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020.

The couple was reportedly upset they couldn’t build their brand as full-time members of the royal family.

Larcombe said that As Ever was an attempt to use her status as a royal for her personal gain.

“She might have struck gold, but I think the overwhelming view here is just more of her cashing in on her fame, based upon her association with the British royal family,” Larcombe said. “[But] she isn’t popular here [in the U.K.]. And I can’t imagine that having a range of products like this is going to make any difference.”

British broadcaster Helena Chard accused Meghan of using her status as a royal and her kids “to help make a quick buck.”

“This seems pretty lowbrow, although it’s bound to bring Meghan success,” Chard said. “The product prices are not astronomical. They are … affordable for her fans wishing to buy into ‘The Meghan Effect.’ But … are the products priced competitively enough, and are they tasty enough to keep continuous sales? Meghan is not a trained chef or even a professional foodie. She is playing a role.”

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich blasted Meghan for using the royal status she fled from to line her pockets.

“Who is the target demographic?” Fordwich asked. “Those with less money couldn’t afford it. … The ‘keepsake packaging’ and aspirational marketing … is out of touch with the average consumer. … It seems inauthentic, and only those with a highly privileged lifestyle, not the mass consumer [would purchase her items].”

Meghan Markle hopes she continues to fund her celebrity lifestyle by cashing in on her royal connection after she bashed the British royal family.
