Holtz slams Biden’s new Title IX rules that let men play women’s sports
Lou Holtz is a college football icon and the last head coach to win a national championship at Notre Dame.
Holtz endorsed Donald Trump in the 2020 election and delivered a scathing speech at the Republican National Convention, blasting Biden as a “Catholic in Name Only” over the fact that Biden’s support for abortion on demand gave lie to Biden’s baseless claim that he was a devout Catholic.
Biden proved Holtz right once again with new Title IX rules that allow biological men to compete in women’s sports.
On the 52nd anniversary of Title IX’s enactment on June 23, Holtz took to social media to express how absurd it was that Biden would pervert federal law banning sex discrimination on college campuses to allow males to take over women’s sports.
“I was happy when Title IX came out. But here we are, many years later, and now we can’t even ensure women competing against women,” Holtz began.
“It’s crazy!” Holtz concluded.
The idea of men competing in women’s sports became a national issue when a mediocre male swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania named Richard Thomas started competing in women’s NCAA swimming under the name Lia.
“Lia” Thomas became a dominant force in women’s swimming.
Polls show Americans oppose biological men competing against women in athletics because men are naturally bigger, faster, and stronger than women.
What Title IX says
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance,” Title IX reads.
Biden’s new Title IX rules extend sexual harassment protections to transgenders.
Republican Attorneys General sued, arguing these new rules effectively allowed men to compete in women’s sports.
Biden’s new rules ban any attempt to keep biological males out of women’s areas, which means they can have access to women’s locker rooms.
Judge Danny C. Reeves of the Eastern District of Kentucky issued a ruling blocking Biden’s attack on women’s sports in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Reeves wrote that Biden unlawfully redefined sex to include gender identity.
“Nonetheless, despite society’s enduring recognition of biological differences between the sexes, as well as an individual’s basic right to bodily privacy, the Final Rule mandates that schools permit biological men into women’s intimate spaces, and women into men’s, within the educational environment based entirely on a person’s subjective gender identity,” Reeves stated.
“This result is not only impossible to square with Title IX but with the broader guarantee of education protection for all students,” Reeves added.
This was a win in court for common sense.
Five years ago, the idea of men playing women’s sports sounded like a pitch for a bad comedy movie.
Now it’s a political hill the Left wants to die on.
